Country Roads quilt-along

Hey there you all. 'Hope your weekend went well. I actually finished my Country Roads quilt for Humble Quilts Blog's Quilt-Along. I am still kinda a newbie quilter, so blocks on-point are a bit of a challenge. Then, why did I do it? lol. Because on-point blocks are such a pretty design. When I chose the cheddar fabric for the spacers, 'did not think about it having a tiny vertical floral design. So, tried to match that as best as possible. 'Main thing is, it does run vertically in every area. Whew! So worth the effort though. I wanted my quilt to be larger, so added the 2 1/4" wide navy borders. This makes the quilt finish at about 28 1/2" square. Used the same navy cotton fabric for the quilt backing, along with a burgundy binding.

Here is a close-up view of my Country Roads quilt. Yes, some of my blocks are a bit "wonky", lol. On-point is so pretty but a bit more difficult than squared. The machine quilting is simple meandering style, which does seem easier to do than other styles. The fabrics are Civil war era reproductions from several designers. This little quilt is great for watching TV on those cooler nights. There's just something comforting about a quilt, isn't there? Thank you, Lori, for this fun quilt-along.
