Raven the Ranger 1999-2016

'Been away for a while. Well, pictured above is my beloved Ranger pickup, "Raven". Yes, he "died" the other day. The dash wiring harness burned up... Although I am sad beyond words about this, at least no one was injured. Maybe it is silly, but as the old song says, "I Love My Truck". Yes, he is very old (1999 model), but still is a great truck. Raven can be repaired, and as soon as financially possible we will have him back to running. So, perhaps he is not actually dead but just very critically ill. You know how you just remember some things at moments like these? In the past, some fellow employees had told me that Raven was "just an old junky hoopty" for the junk yard. Those memories came to mind. People should not make fun of other people's rides, as it may be the best they can afford. I am just thankful to even own Raven. Who would keep such an old truck? Someone who loves the truck and can have it repaired for less than buying another used truck. After all, Ford no longer produces these Rangers. Meanwhile, I am without a ride. Please pray for me that all will be OK. I have spent the last 2 days crying and crying some more. The photo was made at happier times, before Raven burned up. 'Will be back soon with a more cheerful post.

Blessings, Danice G.

I hope your week turns out to be happier, and that one day Raven will run again.

I'm sorry Danice! I hope something works out soon. We always have car trouble, but thankfully we are close enough to stores to walk or bike to them.

Thank you all so much. I was so emotional when I posted that. I still cannot stop the tears, but am really trying hard. I am physically unable to ride a bicycle, but can walk though, provided I can stop to rest from time to time. It's all like a horrible nightmare. Your kind words have actually made me smile for the first time in a while. Thank you so much :)

So sorry, Danice. We have a 2000 Toyota Tundra that I just love. It's been a great truck. Hoping life treats you gentle and you can get your ride fixed sooner than you anticipate. Blessings to you and yours.

Raven is a nice looking ride, I'm sure he has more life to live and memories to make. I will seriously pray for a good electric tech to show himself to you, I had a 64 Mustang that had electrical problem and it was a pain to find the problem. Hopefully replacing the whole harness will be easier. Will pray for finances and reasonable cost too.

Thank you both so much. Yes, I also think he is a nice looking truck (not a "hoopty"). A friend who is a mechanic already looked at the truck, but it is not something that he can do. He tried, and I appreciate that.

Thank you Mindy. Ford no longer produces many of the electrical parts for the now-discontinued Ranger, but those parts can be obtained online like from places that purchased some of them before they were discontinued. Thanks to two mechanic friends and my son-in-law, we hope to have the truck back in better condition soon.
