Winter cardinals lap quilt

How are you all doing today? Hoping all well and happy. Pictured above is another of the first lap quilts that I made, just over a year ago. This one is made of a wintery red cardinal birds in the pine cone snowy trees. Cardinal birds are so pretty, aren't they? Interesting that the red ones are actually the males. This lap quilt measures 30" X 30", and was a gift to my mother. Some months later, after getting a darning foot and learning to machine quilt, I added the meandering quilting all over the quilt. I always choose the meandering quilting because it is much easier to do than those complicated other designs. Maybe in time, I can master some of those other designs, lol. I used a natural color thread, so it doesn't show too well on the quilt's borders but it is there. Mother is really enjoying this lap quilt, which features her favorite bird. Prim blessings to you all.

Morning Hanna, A Lovely quilt. From some of your prior posts you are getting me more and more interested in primitive quilting, I don't know if I want to thank you or not 8-). I guess time will tell. I'm going to start my first project in a couple days, it's a cat pillow. Figure I had better start small, before I invest too much.
Have a great day,
Tonia
