Star Light Star Dark QAL: completed quilt

Wow, 'finally completed the quilt for the QAL at Quilty Habit. I am happy with the results, and learned a lot about color. The left side was to be the light gradation, and the right side the darker gradation. Since green is my favorite color, that had to be one color choice, lol. The choice of orange for the other color was perfect, except that I did have trouble finding lighter shades of orange fabrics. The machine quilting is simple meandering style. Please continue reading.

For the backing, I used a scrappy style sewn from remnants of the block fabrics. For the binding, tried something new- 2 colors. The left side and bottom are a muted shade of olive green, and the right side and top and are a dark orange. This goes along with the light/dark scheme of the quilt. Completed size: 51"X46". Be sure to visit the link party to see many other quilt tops/completed quilts. Oh, there will be some prizes awarded when this QAL ends. Yay! Thank you to Jess for this very educational and fun QAL.

Oh, it's so lovely! I love the colors you chose (I totally understand about the light orange fabrics - I've had that problem as well). Your large stars really pop! Great pieced backing, too! Thanks for quilting along. :)
