Ticking fabrics for new dress

These are fabrics for the dress set soon to be started. Remember old-timey cotton pillow ticking fabric? One is striped red, the other navy. The under dress will be of one of these fabrics. The pinafore will be solid navy cotton premium broadcloth with red rick-rack trimming. The under dress collar is large and rounded. As soon as it is finished, it will be posted on this blog. Yeah, I admit, during Thanksgiving I got a bit lazy with sewing, lol!

Americana dress set

This Americana-inspired dress set is made of woven 100% cotton homespun. It features a pleated front and rounded neckline. The under dress is 100% cotton checkered gingham. This design is named after my niece, Mary.

Hearts bird house

Hello all. Birdhouses are adorable! This one features two prim pink hearts. Bird houses are so fun to make and decorate, aren't they? They look right at home as prim decor for any room. The paint is aged and crackled.

Craft bird house

This is a cute decorative "two-story" bird house. Not a sewn item, just something fun to make. The paint is aged and crackled. Years ago, when I was a Brownie, our troop made real bird houses. Recently refinished mine and my twins' and emptied them as they were weathered and rehung them outside in their same places. What do you think?

Caroline dress set

'Finally finished the pinafore for the Caroline dress. This pinafore is 100% premium cotton broadcloth in a dark brown color. It features ruffled-capped sleeve edges and front yoke orange piping trim. The back yoke has a button closure and is open from the high waist down to reveal the dress underneath. Very Thanksgiving-looking, don't you think?
