Glad and sad day...

'Ever have one of those days that is a combination of glad and sad? I did today. First is the glad: I won Lois' Huckleberry Lady Giveaway! Wow! A darling turkey centerpiece. It is on our Thanksgiving sideboard table. Thank you so much to Lois. Second is the sad news: my friend and hairdresser Natonya has lost everything in a house fire. Thank God she and her family were not at home at the time. She is a granddaughter to mother's best friend, so in the AM we are going to call mother's best friend to check on them. We found out through my twin sister, who goes to church with some of our mutual friends. Please pray for them.

How to schedule a blog post

image: bich tran | Pexels.com

Hello friends! Time for another html tip. Well, this is really a posting tip. Many of you may already be aware of this, but for those who are not here's a cool tip. When you make a new post, you can select Scheduled at under Post Options and fill-in a later date to publish your post. This way, if you are not able to be online on a certain day, Blogger will automatically publish that post at the scheduled date. After you write the post and fill-in a date, click Publish Post.

Blogger will then redirect to your Posts and have that scheduled at date highlighted and saved beside that post. Of course, you can change the date or even go ahead and Publish Post automatically by going back to the post and choosing the option. How cool is that?

Moose lamp shade

This is a Moose lamp shade that I designed and made last year. The wall base is an old sconce from the early 1960's. It has a glass hurricane-style globe underneath my shade. The shade is made from craft paper with acrylic painting and leather trim. I free-hand drew the moose and background, and laced the edges with the leather trim. For safety, I left the glass hurricane globe underneath. The old sconce belonged to my late step-father. What do you all think of my creation?

Image optimizing

Good morning, friends. Another tip for blogging. Have you noticed in the Template Designer that if you try to upload a background it must be 300k or less in size? Many times, a background will be larger than this. What can you do? Optimize the background so that the file size is smaller. Go to this link to use free image optimizers. There's no program to download to your computer.

Optimized images will help your blog/site to load faster, especially if you have many images and/or large images over 250px square in size. They also tend to be clearer, sharper images.

I have so many blogs, whew! 'Not easy for people to know about or remember them all. I have added a page with them all listed. You can see that page listed in the page links, or go here: *My Other Blogs*
