All about this blog

Good morning, friends. I am posting about this blog to be entered in a fun giveaway over at Karen's My Colonial Home: Giveaway. We have to make a post about our blogs to be entered. This blog began back on 26 October, 2010. The name was chosen because, at the time, I had a web store named Homespun Hannah's. (The image above was the header, created by: Moon and Stars Graphics). Homespun is my favorite fabric, and the name Hannah is Hebrew. One meaning of Hannah is grace of God. Even though that web store is long ago closed,I keep the blog because of all the wonderful friends I have made through blogging. You all really brighten my days. Be sure to go enter this giveaway. Karen says the prize will be announced later. Giveaway ends on 28 September.

"Found Things" art

Good morning, friends. While I was in college, we used to do a project called "Found Things". Have you all ever heard of that? It is a creative art adventure in which you can use only items that you already have or that you find and do not obtain especially for the project. Kinda like "make-do". This straw wreath was at a local thrift store, with only some pink flowers. Seeing potential, I bought it for $2 and started creating. It is on my back door. This was an easy, simple project but very fun. Do any of you ever do "Found Things" art? I'd love to hear your comments.

My win from Paintspots and Splinters!

Luck has come my way yet again! I was one of the two winners in Vicky's Birthday Giveaway. I chose the wooden angel pictured above as my gift. It is approx. 14" tall, and has a hanger on the back. Red, white and blue are the patriotic colors. She is Annie-style, with a blue gingham bow on top of her head. So prim and cute! Thank you so much, Vicky. This will look "prim-tastic" in my living room. Y'all be sure to go follow Vicky's blog and check-out her Etsy shop at: Paintspots and Splinters, where there are many beautiful items.

♥ You will love these blogs! ♥

Blogging around lately, I have found three blogs that are really outstanding. Two of these blogs are offering Giveaways when they reach so many Followers, and one was looking for 200 Followers but still has not got that many. Of course, we will follow any nice blog regardless of whether they are having a Giveaway. There are many great blogs out there, and these are three that y'all will be glad you checked out and started following:

More paper mache boxes!

More paper mache boxes! Yeah, since this is a relatively easy craft to do, I have become a bit hooked. They were on sale for 30% off at Hobby Lobby. Now this makes a total of 11 boxes. These are painted with acrylic paints, with a brush. These boxes have an additive in the paint that makes it crackle. By the way, 'found out later that the same effect can be accomplished with a thin coat of liquid white glue over the dried acrylic. Note of interest: paper mache is French for chewed paper. Were you aware of that, or the glue?

Question for you all...

A question for you all... What is a tuck? I know what ornies are, and bowl fillers. But, what exactly is a tuck? Happy Tuesday to you all. Thanks to all who will help me with this.

Stacking boxes finally finished!

Remember my post about the 6 stacking boxes? Well, I have finally got those all painted. Since my hands are not very steady any more, I was hesitating about decorating them with art. So, I applied prim images. The boxes are crackled for an aged look. I simply love crackling and aging prim items. So, do y'all think these boxes turned out OK?

My Raggedy Dolls- Part 2

Here are some more of my raggedy dolls. All three of these were made by Crafty Stitchers. The two smaller ones are a custom order; the thought was for them to be twins and they really do look like twins! Aren't they all totally adorable?
