~Our Christmas wreath 2012~

This is one of our Christmas wreaths for 2012. We did purchase it, but I added some of the decorations to help it look more prim. Have you all got door wreaths? Soon, we will decorate our mantel. On Monday the 26th, I offered a free ornie to a follower, on the spur of the moment. The winner was Diane of: ~Lavender Dreams~. Always read all of every post during the holidays, as one never knows when there may be a free ornie offer somewhere in there. Blessings ♥

How fast is your blog/site?

image: Philippe Donn | Pexels.com

Does your blog/site seem to take forever to load? Not lightning fast? One thing that slows down load time is the pixel size of images. To help your blog load faster, consider optimizing your images. It is very easy to do this. Some images that should be optimized include:

● blog background image and header
● post images
● post signature and divider
● sidebar images

Simply go to: EZGif.com and follow the easy instructions. There are no programs to download, no fees, and both sites meet McAfee Security© as Safe Sites. This will not reduce the dimensions of your images, only their "weight". We all tend to love and have many images on blogs, so this is one way to solve the issue without removing some of our images.
Consider removing or not showing the following items that slow down a blog/site:

● animated (moving) images and/or text
● background music
● icons and thumbnails in the Blog List

Displaying fewer posts on your blog will also help the speed. Prim blessings to you all.

~Thrifty Thursday: Look what I found on sale~

Look at this cute little wood Thanksgiving sign I found on sale. It was 70% off regular price, so it was just $1.30 total. The hanger is a black wire. It has a green background; green is one of my favorite colors. Isn't it cute and very Autumn-ish?

Shelf sitters: what's in the bottom?

Good afternoon, friends. A question: The shelf sitters, what is in the bottom to make them weighted-down? I have heard sacks of dried beans or rice? Also, are shelf sitters difficult to make? They are so prim and cute, I may attempt to make one for my mother.

~Thanks For Giving Swap items arrived!~

Yesterday, my items from Ravenwood Whimzies' Thanks For Giving Swap arrived. My swap partner was Linda of Country Pickin's blog. Linda really sent me some great gifts! The big snowman has my name on his prim star. There is a little pumpkin, two quilt squares, a red and white crocheted Christmas ornie, a Happy Harvest metal sign, a Give Thanks pillow tuck, a bag of potpourri, and a bag of natural pumpkin bread mix with a cute wooden spoon. Thank you so much, Linda. I absolutely love all of these beautiful gifts. One thing that's for sure, the folks of prim blog land sure know how to give generously and are excellent craftspeople. 'Did not think to make a photo of the items that I made for Linda. To see them, visit her blog. Prim blessings.
