Deleting blogs and changing a blog's name

image: Miguel Á. Padriñán | Pexels

Hello friends. 'Something I learned recently, and want to pass-on to you all. If you delete a Blogger blog, after a certain time that url (address) becomes available again. This means that another blogger can get that url (address). What can this mean for you? Well, the people who were following your blog will appear as followers of the new blog. Also, the people who followed your blog by email or RSS feed will continue to receive feeds and emails every time the new blog author makes a post. Suppose the new blog has a theme that you are offended by? Worse than that, your followers may get a shock to see these posts appearing in their emails and blog reading lists. PLeasew continue reading.

Why would someone claim that blog url? Perhaps they are a person who just really wanted that blog url. Or, they could be someone who is simply trying to gain a lot of followers and search engine status without having to earn it for themselves. Someone could "inherit" good ratings or not so good ratings. What can you now do about all of this? Before deleting a blog, go to your Layout and choose your Follow By Email gadget. There will be a blue text link towards the lower left of that box: View stats and learn more. Click on that link to open your FeedBurner acount. There will be a list of all of your blog feeds, arranged alphabetically by the blog's name. Click on the blog that you want to delete its feed, and at the upper left of that page will be a another blue text link: Delete feed . Click that text link and delete that blog's feed. Then, go to the Blogger blog and delete all of the posts that you had made on that blog. If you find yourself following a blog that has a new owner, you can un-follow that blog from the Blogger dashboard. Via your email and browser, you can choose to no longer follow that blog's RSS feed/email posts.

Why some are losing GFC Followers

Good morning friends. Yes, before I rant on about that GFC (Google Friends Connect) Followers problem again, here is an explanation of why some of us have lost quite a few Followers over the past few weeks. Here is what has happened: Followers who do not have a Google account can no longer Follow via GFC. Many of us have long ago added other platforms to follow on our blogs, such as Linky Followers, FeedBurner, and Bloglovin'. We can also display the Follow By Email from our Blogger layout.

How is your winter weather? Here in Alabama, still colder and rainy. A few days ago, we even got a light dusting of snow. 'Cannot believe that February is right around the corner, can you? Stay warm and happy. Prim winter blessings to everyone.

Another jumper for granddaughter

Hello all. 'Hope your Sunday evening is going wonderful. So many thanks to all who wished well for my truck, Raven. Things are looking up. Pictured above is another jumper made from the Simplicity 1568A pattern. This one is made of wide wale corduroy in a deep shade of burgundy. The shoulder buttons are actually printed with a black and white houndstooth design. This is great for my granddaughter, as she and her family are Alabama Roll Tide © fans. A local shop did the white monogrammed "M" on the front, which is granddaughter's initial. 'Forgot to get a photo of the matching black and white houndstooth head band. The grey turtleneck is store-purchased. Continue reading to see granddaughter wearing the jumper.

Raven the Ranger 1999-2016

'Been away for a while. Well, pictured above is my beloved Ranger pickup, "Raven". Yes, he "died" the other day. The dash wiring harness burned up... Although I am sad beyond words about this, at least no one was injured. Maybe it is silly, but as the old song says, "I Love My Truck". Yes, he is very old (1999 model), but still is a great truck. Raven can be repaired, and as soon as financially possible we will have him back to running. So, perhaps he is not actually dead but just very critically ill. You know how you just remember some things at moments like these? In the past, some fellow employees had told me that Raven was "just an old junky hoopty" for the junk yard. Those memories came to mind. People should not make fun of other people's rides, as it may be the best they can afford. I am just thankful to even own Raven. Who would keep such an old truck? Someone who loves the truck and can have it repaired for less than buying another used truck. After all, Ford no longer produces these Rangers. Meanwhile, I am without a ride. Please pray for me that all will be OK. I have spent the last 2 days crying and crying some more. The photo was made at happier times, before Raven burned up. 'Will be back soon with a more cheerful post.

We are 50-something... today!

Yes, it's that time again. Fifty-something years ago today (OK, 52), my twin sister and I were born. Earlier today, mother and I drove over to sis's house, where sis had prepared a tasty birthday lunch. Sis gave me a 3 DVD set Finding Bigfoot for our birthday. So thoughtful, and much appreciated. Pictured above is the baggie holder that I made for her. There is a pocket on the apron to hold coupons and a pair of scissors (for those of us who still clip paper coupons instead of scanning with the smartphone, lol). She loves cats, so this is a perfect choice for her. Do you ever search through your many years of stashed patterns to find just one? Well, that is what happened here. Way back in my stash was this now OOP McCall's 9120 pattern. Some pattern pieces are missing, so I had to improvise a bit. Sis loves the color blue, and her kitchen is blue & yellow. It is truly so wonderful to have a twin to relate to. Twins are actually quite common, and some of you are twins or have twin sisters/brothers. How special is that?

Guess what- my daughter and granddaughter also came to visit me today! What a wonderful birthday it is! They arrived earlier this morning, and brought a cake for me. A girl could get used to being spoiled like this. There were also some birthday cards in the mail for me, so thank you to the friends amd family who sent those. Being 52 really isn't going to be so bad after all. Prim blessings and thanks to you all.

What makes me smile...

Good morning friends. 'Want to know one thing that makes me smile? Sewing for Dress A Girl charity. Back in October 2015, Lori of Humble Quilts Blog traveled to Bolivia to carry dresses to those girls. As an added blessing, Lori happened to get a photo of one of the girls with a dress that I sewed! How special is that! Just warms my heart. Pictured above is that dress.

Winter cardinals lap quilt

How are you all doing today? Hoping all well and happy. Pictured above is another of the first lap quilts that I made, just over a year ago. This one is made of a wintery red cardinal birds in the pine cone snowy trees. Cardinal birds are so pretty, aren't they? Interesting that the red ones are actually the males. This lap quilt measures 30" X 30", and was a gift to my mother. Some months later, after getting a darning foot and learning to machine quilt, I added the meandering quilting all over the quilt. I always choose the meandering quilting because it is much easier to do than those complicated other designs. Maybe in time, I can master some of those other designs, lol. I used a natural color thread, so it doesn't show too well on the quilt's borders but it is there. Mother is really enjoying this lap quilt, which features her favorite bird. Prim blessings to you all.

Happy New Year 2016!

Happy New Year! Here in the CST zone, it is officially 2016. Something I have seen some bloggers do across the web, is choose a special word for the new year. 'Gonna give that a go for the first time and choose the word relax. Some other people are choosing that word also, and it really does fit my life. It is not always easy to accept life situations that we cannot change, so being able to relax regardless of the circumstances would help so much. We all know that stress can be harmful not only emotionally but physically. Are you choosing a word for 2016? Prim New Year blessings.
