Mid Year Review 2016

Hello everyone. 'Found a really cool link party to join, hosted by Yvonne of Quilting Jet Girl. This is all about a self-review of our goals and accomplishments thus far, in 2016. Whoo, seems like I have not done as much as I'd like to have done. Health and other circumstances have been interfering lately, but never give up, right? Please continue reading for more info.

Kelsey's sunny bright dress

Hey friends. Kelsey is now wearing one of her new summer dresses. This one is a wrap style, with a kelly green bodice (yay green!) and a bright floral skirt portion with white piping trim. Her white espadrilles set the whole look. The wrap dresses are super easy to put on the dolls, which is a plus. Do you make doll clothes? Try it- it really is fun.

Scrap bag fabrics won!

Hello dear friends. A couple of months ago, I was a lucky winner of a scrap bag of fabrics from Sarah of: Confessions of A Fabric Addict. Look how many there are, and how pretty every one is! If you haven't visited Sarah's blog, be sure to go there. She is an excellent quilter, and a very charitable person. Sarah quilts for several charities, among her many good works. 'Already working on a quilt top with these scraps. Thank you so much Sarah.

Amanda's birthday purse

My lovely daughter's birthday was 29th June, and the purse pictured above was part of her gifts. I made it from a New Look pattern from 2004. It is #6435. The fabric is upholstery grade, and is lime with grey and white accents. 'Added a magnetic closure on a tab that the pattern does not call for. This does seem to modernize the pattern for today's age, doesn't it? A local shop monogrammed the initial "A" in my daughter's favorite color, pink. Inside the purse is fully lined, including a smart phone pocket and a keys pocket. The pattern also called for round wooden handles, but the shoulder strap is a feature that my daughter likes on her purses. Yes, she does love this purse. Have you ever made a purse or tote? They are fun, and make nice gifts.

Happy 4th of July 2016!

Good evening friends. Where have I been for nearly 3 weeks? Been a little under the weather, plus some house repairs are going on. 'Hope you all haven't tuned-out. Did you have a happy 4th of July? Every year, a park near us has a professional fireworks display. Since it is raining and lightning this evening, no new photos. The photo above was last year's celebration. Fireworks are so pretty with all of the vibrant colors. This is a favorite holiday, for sure. 'Promise, I will return soon with another post. Prim blessings.
