Mug Mat Swap 2017

Recently I participated in the Mug Mat Swap hosted by Donna at: Brynwood Needleworks Blog. Pictured above is the adorable mat that my partner Jody sent. She does not have a blog, but is an excellent seamstress. 'Love that little butterfly, and if you look under it you will see that she even outline stitched a little design of the state of Tennessee. The fabrics are beautiful, green being my favorite. Jody also included two bags of hollyhock seeds. Thank you so much Jody. What awesome goodies. To see the mat that I sent to Jody, please continue reading..

Westering Women QAL quilt top completed!

Finally, I have completed my Westering Women QAL quilt top. This was a fun QAL hosted by: Civil War Quilts Blog in 2016. The setting is also a suggestion from the blog, and is called The Way West. Notice the arrows all point to compass west. Of course green was chosen for the arrows, lol, my favorite color. The beige just seems to be a good neutral color to use. My quilt top finishes at 72"X84", and hopefully will have quilting and binding soon. Stay tuned to see that. There is also a Flickr group for this QAL (see the white tab link to the left of this blog's header). There you can see many other people's blocks and quilts, including mine. To see a close-up view of this quilt top, follow the link below my signature. Prim blessings to you all.

Improv Play QAL

This block is for a QAL over at Elm Street Quilts. It is improv, and has some prompts every week. Week #1 was wonky log cabin, and this is one of my blocks. It is already sewn into it's row. Soon you will see my completed quilt top. This is my first time at improv. A real fun challenge. Have you done any improv quilting?

Constellations QAL: March block

Good morning friends. Yes, it has been nearly a week. 'Have been feeling a bit under the weather, but better now. Pictured above is the March block for the Constellations QAL at: The Academic Quilter. The color for March is red, as this QAL is following the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. The block is from 1906, and is called The Best of All. Mine is not yet sewn into the row, but it is the top right corner block. Can't you just imagine the stars floating in a midnight blue sky? Have you been doing any quilting this week?

Civil War Quilts' Yankee Diary QAL: February

Hello all. How is your week going? We are getting rain and a bit warmer temps. 'So looking forward to Spring. Pictured above is my block for February in the: Civil War Quilts Blog Yankee Diary QAL. This one is called Susan B's Star, and mine is appliqued. My blocks will all have one of three colors as backgrounds, and this one has a slate blue. It may sound confusing, but hopefully will look good once the quilt top is completed. Be sure to visit Civil War Quilts' Blog to read all about this fun QAL. There is also an image link on this blog's left sidebar. Are you currently participating in any QAL's?

The Splendid Sampler™ QAL

What are all of these quilt blocks? They are the ones that I have completed for: The Splendid Sampler™ QAL. There are 100 blocks total + some bonus blocks, designed by several very talented quilters. There were also several great giveaways going on for those who made even just one of the blocks. Joining the QAL kinda late, these are all that I have completed. 'Hope to make a few more, and later form a table runner. Stay tuned to this blog for future updates on my progress. Prim quilting blessings.
