Constellations QAL: April blocks

Well, behind as usual, lol. The Constellations block for April is the Double Star. We had to make eight blocks, each 6" square. April's Rainbow Scrap Challenge color is multi-color. So, here are my eight blocks. This QAL is super fun. Always looking forward to the next block. Read all about this QAL at: Constellations QAL: The Academic Quilter.

Rachel dress

Good morning to you all. Hoping you are enjoying some warmer Spring weather. The cute dress pictured above is made from a pattern designed by: Sew Sweet Patterns- Etsy . That retro-vibe asymmetrical collar is so eye-catching. It is a tone-on-tone print. The 100% cotton fabrics are in muted/pastel tones of lavender, blue, yellow and pink on a grey ground. That large geometric-shaped teal button on the collar seems to match nicely. This dress is a simple design, yet so so cute. The fastener is concealed Velcro© on the left shoulder. The 3/4 length sleeves are set-in. A matching hair bow is made of the lavender collar fabric (woops, no photo). This pattern will get a pattern difficulty rating of:

Simplicity 1174: Easter dress

My daughter and her family visited last Sunday, and we exchanged Easter gifts. Granddaughter was all cute, as always. Pictured above is the dress I made for her in her favorite color: hot pink. This is Simplicity 1174, and it has several options. What a couture-looking pattern. The dropped-waist skirt portion has two inverted pleats and two little bows. The back fastener is a zipper. Simple, yet adorable. 'Will definitely be using this pattern again, maybe next time the option with a sleeve. Overall, this pattern was quick to construct. Please continue reading for more, and for comments.
