Trail Tote is completed!

Finally, the Trail Tote is completed! The applique is in celebration of the recent Solar Eclipse, and is my own addition. The pattern is by: Noodlehead, and is available in small or large sizes. This is the small size. In this area we got only a Partial Eclipse, and that narrow "grin" of sunshine was all that was visible to us at the Solar Eclipse's fullest moment. There is a zippered pocket on the exterior, a great place to add a decorative zipper pull! That ornate oval slider had been in my stash for years, so now it is put to use. Bright yellow piping decorates the outer edges of this Trail Tote. The interfacing is Pellon® Decor Bond 809®. The finished dimensions are 10"W X 10 1/2"H X 1 1/2"D. Trail Tote is an easy to construct bag, with detailed instructions. Plus, there is plenty of room inside for all of those necessities. To see the inside, please continue reading.

Zippered pouch for niece

Pictured above is a little zippered pouch that I made for my niece. She does not live locally, so hopefully soon she can visit and pick this up. It finished at 6 1/2"W X 5" H X 3/4"D. The fuzzy zipper pull was added because she likes fancy things, lol. Have you ever made a zippered pouch?

Trail Tote- surprise front!

Here it is- the completed front of the Trail Tote (pattern by Noodlehead).Oops, still have to add the front zippered pocket. In celebration of the recent Solar Eclipse, I appliqued the view we got here in northwest Alabama. Ours was a Partial view, which was at its fullest at 1:28:19 CDT. This bag is being made entirely from scrap fabric, and the grey was barely enough. Now to get the rest of the bag assembled. It will be entered in the Bag It event over at: Elm Street Quilts Blog. To see a close up view of the applique, follow the link below my signature.

Trail Tote handbag- beginning

Good morning everyone. Pictured above is the beginnings of a cute handbag made from a pattern by: Noodlehead. The pattern is the Trail Tote, and it can be made in a small or a large size. If you haven't looked at Noodlehead's patterns, you really should. They are just too cute! So far, the exterior, lining and piping are sewn. I will be finishing this bag very soon, so stay tuned for the reveal. There is a surprise as to the front of my bag! To see a photo of the lining, follow the link below my signature.

Constellations QAL: September

Talk about being behind... Here is my star for the RSC. September's color is orange. This block is called Rob Peter to Pay Paul (lol), and is for the monthly Constellations QAL going on over at: The Academic Quilter. I absolutely love the color orange, the whole colorway. Be sure to check out the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) as well as the Constellations QAL. Prim quilting blessings.

Happy Grandparents Day!

Good morning everyone. Sending happy Grandparents Day blessings to you all. What a pleasure to have those grands to watch grow up. I am so very thankful for both of my grandchildren. As of 2003, I have no grandparents surviving. They are all remembered and loved always. Happy Grandparents day to you all.

Hurricane Harvey Pillowcase Drive

Everyone is so worried for the Hurricane Harvey victims. It really is such a terrible tragedy. In addition to helping with local collections, how about helping with the Pillowcase Drive over at: Confessions of a Fabric Addict. Sarah is always organizing a helpful event, and this is her latest. All of the info is on her blog. These three pillowcases finished at 30"X19", and have French seams. Sarah also has a link to a pillowcase tutorial on her post. Bless all people who were/are affected by this hurricane.
