One Monthly Goal finish: August 2018

Here is my finished goal for August: quilting and finishing the Beach Houses quilt block. 'Decided to make it into a pillow cover. It measures 17" square, and the quilting is machine-stitched meandering. The back is an envelope-style opening, and is solid purple cotton. This will probably be a gift for a family member. Hoping to get more sewing and quilting finished in September.

Custom bulletin board

Last year for Christmas, I made bulletin boards as Christmas gifts. They were all like the one pictured above, featuring their favorite NCAA team's colors. 'Looked online for some tutorials. No push pins required, simply slide the note or photo behind one of the ribbons. Everyone loved these custom boards. 16" X 22" seemed like a good size. They were kinda easy to make. Yes, these family members' favorite NCAA team is Alabama Roll Tide®. Have you ever made anything like this?

Rollator basket

Did you notice on my last few posts that there was a blur on the left side of the photos? That was really simple- clean the camera lens. Thank goodness it was just that. 'Problem easily and quickly solved.

New 18" doll clothes for granddaughter

Here are some new dresses for my granddaughter's AG dolls. She now has four dolls, so granny has to sew so many outfits. These dresses went to her for her birthday back in June. The magenta dress is just like granddaughter's dress, so they can dress alike. Actually, I am now hooked on sewing doll clothes. It is so much fun. Do you ever sew doll clothes?

One Monthly Goal: August 2018

This month, I am participating in the: Aurifil® Designer of the Month Challenge. The designer is Sherri McConnell, and her block is called Beach Houses. Pictured above are four of those blocks sewn into a small quilt. It now measures approx. 18" square. Getting this little quilt quilted and binded is my One Monthly Goal for August. A small goal, as things have been fairly hectic around here lately. The fabrics are kind of a summertime colorway, aren't they?
