Project Quilting Season 12: Challenge 2

This is a free tutorial designed by: Sarah Ashford for The Polka Dot Chair. It is titled Postage Stamp Quilted Pillow, and features fussy cut "stamps", making it a perfect project choice for this Fussy Cut Challenge. The "stamps" are each pinking shear cut, stitched with raw edge appliquéing. You know how when you see a tutorial and know immediately that it is a must-do? That is what this was for me. My pillow finished at approx. 14 1/2" square, with machine walking foot vertical quilting. 'Love the back design, with part blue and a splash of yellow. Be sure to visit and see all of the awesome fussy cut projects. Happy smiles to you all. Continue reading to see this pillow's back, and for comments.

Hearts on Fire: my project

Welcome to the last day of the Hearts on Fire Blog Hop! 'Hope you have been visiting and enjoying all of the creative projects. Since the heart could not be red, I chose my favorite color: green. This tote is a pattern that I just made-up. It features a reverse appliquéd strip-pieced heart on the front. It is 2 1/2" deep inside. Please continue reading for more info.

Project Quilting Season 12: Challenge 1

Good evening friends. It is time for: Project Quilting Season 12. This is always such a fun event. The first Challenge is to create something featuring the Pantone® Color of the Year 2021. This year, there are not one but two colors: Ultimate Gray 17-5104 and Illuminating 13-0647 ( a bright yellow). Here is my project, a little candle or mug mat that measures about 6 3/4" X 7 3/4". It is quilted in the ditches, with echoes around each wedge piece. Be sure to visit and see all of the other projects. Thank you, Kim, for hosting Project Quilting again this year.

Word of the Year: 2021

image: Rawpixel.com

Happy New Year to you all. This year, my Word is not a new one. From 2017, I am revisiting patience. 2020 was very trying on us all, so more patience is just what I need. Learning to wait is kinda difficult for many people, but sometimes things just do not happen the exact moment we want them do, do they? Some things never actually happen at all. Learning to be patient and to accept the outcome is my goal. And to get more quilting finished. What is your Word for 2021 going to be? 'Did not finish as many quilts in 2020 as planned, only half as many as in 2019. See the total below. Blessings.
