Mid Year Review 2016

Hello everyone. 'Found a really cool link party to join, hosted by Yvonne of Quilting Jet Girl. This is all about a self-review of our goals and accomplishments thus far, in 2016. Whoo, seems like I have not done as much as I'd like to have done. Health and other circumstances have been interfering lately, but never give up, right? Please continue reading for more info.

Swap Parties:
Let's break this up into 3 categories. So far, I have participated in 3 swap parties. The photo above is from the Americana Pin Keep Swap that was hosted by Wendy of Ravenwood Whimzies Blog. Another was the Doll Quilt Swap that was hosted by Lori of Humble Quilts Blog back in April. The other is still in process, the Farmhouse Summer Swap hosted by Amy of Bumblebee Lane Cottage Blog. These swap parties are so much fun! Let's break this up into 3 categories.

Quilt- Alongs (QAL's):
The count for QAL's comes to three as well. First, pictured above, was the Ugly Christmas Sweaters QAL hosted by Lorna of Sew Fresh Quilts. Quilt top is completed, but not yet quilted, lol. The Westering Women QAL is still going on at Civil War Quilts Blog every month in 2016, hosted by Barbara. The Gwennie Inspired Medallion QAL, hosted by Lori at Humble Quilts Blog, is still going on as well. QAL's are also a whole lot of fun.

Charity work:
Pictured above is a quilt that I made for the annual Hands 2 Help Quilt Charity hosted by Sarah of Confessions of A Fabric Addict Blog. The quilts are distributed to several charities for cancer patients and their families. Back in February, mother and I also mailed 4 pair of socks for a sock drive that Sarah sponsored. The socks went to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital (Tennessee) in memory of a dear young girl who passed away in 2011. Mother and I also sew dresses for Dress A Girl Around The World, and so far have mailed 24 dresses this year. These dresses go to needy girls all over the world. It is such a wonderful feeling to help someone, isn't it?

Remember that my word for 2016 is relax. Well, I am still not doing a great job with that, but still trying my very best daily. So far, this year has been pretty great. Sending many thanks to Yvonne for hosting this event. You may even want to write a post and link-up at the link party. Prim blessings to everyone.

This is a great list of achievements! You've done some great work and I also love your Ugly Sweaters Quilt. Love the way you've done all those charity quilts.

It sounds like you have dona lot in 2016 already! QALs are lots of fun, and all your charitable donations are amazing. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the year and thanks for linking up.

It's Afton from Quilting Mod. I believe I'm out of fabric for the challenge, but you may still participate as long as you are willing provide your own fabric. I will let you know if any of those who had an earlier participation request decide to opt out of the challenge, making their fabric allotment available.

What beautiful projects you've made this year, Danice! My mom has been making dresses for charity for a number of years now, too. I'm sure they are greatly appreciated. Wishing you all the best for 2017!
