Happy 4th of July wishes to you all. This is a little pin keep that I made from block #51 in Kathleen Tracy's book Schoolgirl Sampler. It is named Patriotic. Perfect for today's holiday. 'Never can have too many pinkeeps, right? Do you ever make any patriotic projects?

Little blue doll quilt

Hello friends. Here is my first quilt for 2025. Actually, it was completed in December 2024, but didn't get posted in time. It also was not counted in Quilts Completed. This little doll quilt is designed by Kathleen Tracy, and was a challenge for the: Kathleen Tracy Facebook group. The title is Small and Simple #4. Project Quilting Challenge 14.5

This is another pin keep that I have made. It is for the Project Quilting 14.5 Challenge: Sew Not a Square. As the description states, our projects cannot be square nor be made of squares. My little scrap-buster pin keep measures approx. 4"X6", and is sitting on the sewing machine. The top has minimal quilting, with batting underneath. One can never seem to have enough of these, can they? 'Always needing a place to park straight pins and needles. Be sure to go look at all of the creative takes on this Challenge. So much fun! All About Strings Blog Hop: Kite Strings

Welcome to: Creatin' in the Sticks' All About Strings Blog Hop! I am one of the people sharing today, and my project is a wall hanging quilt. The kite block pattern is from Hey Let's Make Stuff.com, and is free. Kite Strings is made-up of two foundation-pieced string kite blocks with an aqua blender fabric to represent the sky. The machine quilting is straight line walking foot, with Warm N' Natural© batting. Kite Strings measures 13" X 38". This was so much fun to make! The Splendid Sampler™ QAL first challenge winner!

Wow, recently I participated in a QAL at: The Splendid Sampler, hosted by Pat Sloan. I made a 30-block small quilt top. There were a total of 100 blocks + some extra blocks available to sew. For the first challenge, I made a pin cushion of one of the blocks, and won the wonderful book pictured above. How cool is that? Thank you so much, Pat. Farmhouse Summer Swap 2016

Good morning dear friends. Wow, summer is soon to be gone and autumn will arrive. 'Kinda lookign forward to the cooler weather here in the South. Goodness, it is so humid here. One of the wonderful events of this summer was the Farmhouse Summer Swap, hosted by Amy of: Bumblebee Lane Cottage. This year, Amy was my swap partner. Harvest Gatherings Swap 2015

Lookie what came in the mail yesterday! Swap goodies from Bumblebee Lane Cottage's annual Harvest Gatherings Swap. My swap partner was Debbie of: Barefoot Primitives Blog. Wow, Debbie really did spoil me. She sent: a darling raggedy doll, a muslin turkey, 2 muslin pumpkins, 2 wax potpourri cakes, some vintage milk caps, 3 ears of muslin corn, a bundle of cinnamon sticks, a bundle of little candles, a sewing notions doll on a vintage spool, 5 bowl filler pillows with sunflowers (1 has Hebrews 4:14 verse), a note card set with pretty bird graphics, an owls pin keep and 2 cakes of beeswax, a vintage baby frock, a blue note pad roll with a wooden writing pen, a rusty wire with ladybugs and sunflowers trimming, and 2 darling prim hang tags. Christmas In July Pin Keep Swap

Lookit what arrived in the mail today! This snowman is the darling pin keep that I received in Ravenwood Whimzies' Christmas In July Pin Keep Swap. He is mounted on a wooden spool. Also included are two vintage items: a red ticking napkin and red crocheted little cap, another pin keep in a vintage metal muffin cup (with buttons inside), and the adorable little mouse in a green homespun dress. Coffee with a mentor & friend

What a pleasant surprise came my way the other day. One of my former instructors at the University of Mississippi found me on FaceBook. She and her boyfriend came to my town this past weekend on business, and we were able to have some coffee and reminiscence about the "good ole days" in Mississippi. As an undergrad, I learned much from Andi, and will always admire her. Andi is a well respected and talented designer in the theatre/arts world. Friends are very special and treasured people. Spring Tidings Swap 2015

Winter Pin Keep Swap goodies!

Good morning to you all. Recently I participated in the Winter Pin Keep Swap at: Ravenwood Whimzies. Pictured above is the festive pin keep that my partner Wendy (who hosted this Swap) made and sent. The mouse sits atop of a red box that opens for storage. A pocket on his back holds a lovely pair of gold-handled scissors. Beside the mouse sits a pine tree and a little green pin keep with star-topped pins. The box label reads: Not a Creature was stirring, Not even a mouse.... Wendy also sent two red kitchen towels, a wood-framed Holly Jolly Christmas stitchery, a book of holiday recipes, and a box of yummy Andes© Peppermint Crunch Thins candy. Wow, am I spoiled, lol! Cross-stitched tree pillow tuck

Good morning friends. Pictured above is a little flowering tree cross-stitching that I made. The flower centers are supposed to be pink instead of blue, but I thought doing them blue would match the ruffled trimming with the blue edges. The Aida is 14 ct. antique white. The DMC floss colors are: blue 334, pink 3860 (they call it cocoa), and the brown is 938. This pillow tuck was created for a Swap package. It could also be used as a pin keep. The pattern is free, and is from Gazette 94. It can be found under the categories Sampler and Quaker.

~Rabbit Heart cross stitchery~

Easter will be here soon, and this cross stitchery reminds me so much of the season. I am a beginner, and this is my largest completed design to date. The floss is DMC #3051, Dark Green Grey. The aida is 14 ct. white. The completed design is approx. 6 1/2"X 7". Please contoune reading for more info.
