Bowl cozies
Well, hello friends! Yes, it has been a while. I am back to sewing again, and hoping to be quilting again very soon. These are three bowl cozies that I made for my daughter and her family for Christmas this year. Somehow, one cozy did not get into the photo. The pattern is free, and cannot remember the site that this was on. A lot of my friends say how they love bowl cozies, so it was a new project for me. They are constructed with 100% cotton fabrics, batting, and thread. Have you ever made any of these? They were fun to sew, and my daughter loves them. Wishing you all happy holidays.

Something Wicked Blog Hop: Gourdon
Meet Gourdon. He is all ready for Halloween and Autumn with his gourd head and cute attire. He is my project for the Something Wicked Blog Hop, hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt. Do you think that he is OK to sit out in the room any time of the year? His face is hand-painted {a skill that I am still trying to improve at}. The entire doll is coffee-stained. Gourdon is actually the 6th doll that I have made from a Sanker Studios pattern. Do you ever make any dolls? This is my 990th blog post- getting close to that 1,000 mark! Thank you all who visit/comment and/or follow. You truly make me smile. Please continue reading for comments, and for a full list of all of the blog hoppers.

Happy Halloween 2022!
Happy Halloween to all. We have been getting some rain, and that was usually typical when my twin sister and I were children. 'Did not stop us from wanting to go trick-or-treating, though. This is a cute eyeball door hanger from a free pattern by: Carla of Creatin'in the Sticks (tutorial on Thermoweb). The pattern is called I'm Watching You, and is perfect for the season. It measures 6" square, and my hanger is actually three strips of gros-grain ribbon braided for strength. 'Did not have any wide ribbon, so this is a make-do idea. Thank you Carla for this free pattern. My daughter actually has green eyes, just not bloodshot, lol. My own eyes are green with brown, otherwise known as hazel. If you are out and about this afternoon, please be careful and mindful of all around you.

Gremlins, Ghouls and Goblins Blog Hop- Day 3
Good morning friends. Welcome to Day 3 of the Gremlins, Ghouls and Goblins Blog Hop, hosted by Joan at Moose Stash Quilting. Three of my projects are finished, and one is pictured with what is completed. First is the paper mache Haunted House. I have had it a few years, just never painted it. Now it is all spooky and ready for Halloween. Next is the little round paper mache box, painted black with spider web stamping and an orange lid. Then is the painted skeleton pumpkin. It was originally orange, and is now black and white. The unfinished project is the table runner. It still needs to be quilted, and will be getting that today and tomorrow. The pattern is called Candy Corn Runner and is designed by Trina Kirkvold. 'More on that when it is all finished. Thank you for visiting. 'Hope you enjoyed my projects. Sending thanks to Joan at: Moose Stash Quilting for hosting this fun blog hop. Continue reading for comments, and a list of the bloggers.

Queen of Gadgets Blog Hop!
Today is the final day of the Queen of Gadgets Blog Hop, hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt. Wow, so many nifty and neat gadgets have already been shared. This is the Fiskars® Folding Square Ruler (8"X8"). Already shared it a few months ago, as it is a gift from a comfort quilt challenge. Why is this my choice? It is just such a helpful and handy sewing tool. Being transparent, this is way easier than trying to cut around an opaque paper template shape. So far, it has been used in a couple of projects. (One will be revealed next month!). Keep reading for a list of all of the Gadgets blog hoppers...

Wonderful World of Color: clock
Welcome to my project for the Wonderful World of Color Blog Hop. This clock is from a pattern by: Holly Clarke Design.com, and is called Quilt O'Clock. Isn't that clever? So my clock is made from my fabric stash, and is hanging in the sewing area. The clock is 12" diameter, and has a chrome bezel. I was concerned about getting the clock hands back on correctly, and luckily they do work and keep perfect time. Please continue reading for more Blog Hop info.

Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange 2021
Hello friends! Welcome to day 2 of the: Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange at Just Let Me Quilt. My projects are first, this Sallie Snowblls doll. She is made from a pattern by Sanker Studios, and was so much fun to make. She is holding a little wooden snowflake, and wears a red holidays hat with a jingle bell atop. Notice that her shoes also have jingle bells.

Ghastly Ghouls Blog Hop 2021
Today is my day on the Ghastly Ghouls Blog Hop, and here is a very Autumn-themed witch doll. She is approx. 32" tall, and her face is hand-painted. The braided hair is black roving wool. This is a pattern that I had wanted to make for a long while, and finally did just that. Her [new] name is Ezra, and she wears her bottle of witches' potion around her neck. Remember Simone (Bunny Boo Hiss), another Sanker Studio pattern? These two could be friends, couldn't they? Be sure to visit all of the other bloggers this week to see their wonderful projects. Continue reading for those links, and to leave comments.

What a whale!
This is a stuffed whale that I made for a neighbor. The pattern is made-up, and was my first attempt. 'Only now realizing that the fins should have been attached between the lower edge and bottom seam (woops). He is a dandy, at 14"X22", and the neighbor loves him. The eyes are appliquéd of felt, and the body is anti-pill fleece in a medium blue color. Do you sew any plush animals? It is definitely a new love for me. Another project for National Sewing Month is all finished. Blessings.

Safelight cards: May 2021
These are seven cards that I made for: Safelight Project 2021, for Carole at From My Carolina Home blog. She is always doing good works, and it is always wonderful to be able to join in and help. Safelight is a women's shelter. The cards are to encourage and send some emotional support to the women.

Wood craft decor
Good morning friends. These are some dollar store wood decor items that I painted for my grandson's hutch shelf in his nursery. The theme is dinosaurs, so these fit the bill perfectly. The little cars should look cute as well. There is a wide range of colors, and several coats of acrylic paint on each one. Of course, they are all for decor only, due to small parts that can come off (ie the wheels and round spheres). Keep reading for another photo and for comments.

Gifts for twin neighbors
These are 2 stuffed dogs that I made for my twin sister neighbors back in February, for their birthdays. The ladies are in their '70's, and are so friendly and kind. At first, it was not easy to tell them apart, as they are identical twins. Being a twin myself, we also have that in common. One of the twins is also married to a man who has a twin, so we are "twins central" over here, ha ha. These dogs are made from a free pattern at: Tilda's World.com, and are called Dapper Dachsunds. Each finished at approx. 18" long, and their underbellies are made of the same printed cotton fabric as their ears. Their bodies are made from cotton flannel in a dark brown color. 'Had a difficult time posing them for their photo shoot, but think this worked well. Now I want to make one for myself! Isn't it an adorable pattern?

Show Your Stripes Blog Hop: Day 2
Welcome to day 2 of the Show Your Stripes Blog Hop. Not sewing fabrics with stripes very often, this was an extra fun challenge for me. My project is a teddy bear for my new grandson. It is made of fleece, and the nose, paws, ears and tail are a striped cotton fabric. The pattern is from: Purl Soho.com, called Wool + Liberty Teddy Bear. He is approx, 9 1/2" sitting, and hoping grandson loves him. For baby-safety, I appliquéd the eyes instead of using buttons. Be sure to visit all of the other bloggers to see their creations. Thanks to Carla of Creatin' in the Sticks for hosting this blog hop. So much fun planning and creating with striped fabrics!

Baby boy arriving in December!
Guess what friends! I have a new grandson, arriving in December! Wow, how blessed am I? Already have one grandson, and one granddaughter. Three will make it even better! These are stuffed fleece dinosaurs, and a decorated wooden frame. Daughter and family are decorating the nursery in navy and grey, with dinosaurs, so these should fit right in with the theme.
Patterns designed by: Choly Knight at Sew desu ne? Of course a quilt is in the works, so stay tuned to see the progress on that. Hoping you are all safe and well. Continue reading to see more gifts {photo overload!} for grandson, and for comments.

Virtual Cookie Exchange & Blog Hop 2019
It is day three of the: Virtual Cookie Exchange & Blog Hop at Just Let Me Quilt. 'Hope you are all enjoying the event. This tomte gnome is something that I have wanted to make for a while. 'Also learned some interesting information about gnomes as well. According to legend, they are active little sprites! 'Wonder if they like brownies... This one measures 13" tall and has a weighted bottom to stand. The body and nose are cotton fabric. His clothing is olive cotton flannel and his beard is white craft faux fur.
The recipe in that little blue plate is Chocolate Mint Brownies. They were quite easy to prepare, and do taste yummy. The filling is gel-based food-colored dyed green, and the topping is a ganache made of real chocolate morsels. The link to the recipe is below. Be sure to hop on over and visit all of the bloggers for all of their special recipes and projects. This is so much fun!

Chicken baggie holder
This is a handy item to have- a kitchen baggie holder. I made this for mother a few years ago. The pattern is made-up-as-you-go, and includes the theme color of her kitchen, orange. The bottom has elastic, and there is a back hanger. Baggie holders were very popular in the 1980's. 'Makes me feel so old, ha ha. Have you ever made one of these?

What a cute win!
Hello friends. Look at the wonderful book and button lanyard that I won from Lori of: Humble Quilts Blog! Sew Emoji is written by Gailen Runge, and includes many adorable emojoi patterns. I will be making my granddaughter a pillow and possibly a small doll quilt for sure. The lanyard is just as nice, and will have my name card attached soon. Thank you so much Lori. Emojis are just so cute and popular, aren't they? I really love the one wearing glasses.
