Granddaughter's birthday gift: 2019

Happiest 8th birthday wishes to my adorable granddaughter! This is the outfit that I made for her. She loves anything with the Eiffel Tower on it. The blouse is Simplicity 8661, and is really easy to sew. The back closure is simply a loop with two ties made of the blouse fabric. All of the full-sleeve gathering really makes this blouse cute. The shorts are just a made-up pattern, with an elastic waist. See the matching hair bow? 'Love the teal quatrefoil fabric. Of course, there are more gifts, this is just one of them. Do you think she will like this? Wishing everyone in this hemisphere a happy first day of Summer also. 'Giving this blouse a Pattern Difficulty Rating of:

Good morning to you all. Hoping you are enjoying some warmer Spring weather. The cute dress pictured above is made from a pattern designed by: Sew Sweet Patterns- Etsy . That retro-vibe asymmetrical collar is so eye-catching. It is a tone-on-tone print. The 100% cotton fabrics are in muted/pastel tones of lavender, blue, yellow and pink on a grey ground. McCall's 6736 halter dress

Yay! Another dress for my granddaughter. This one was made back in the summer, and is McCall's 6736, view A. It is a frilly, ruffled v-neckline halter dress with a tie sash at the back neck. The ruffle at the hemline completes the look. The fabric is 100% cotton, white with multi color large floral print. Kinda "grown-up" looking and perfect for a 5 year old, not baby-nursery looking. Oh, she will remind you that she is not a baby, lol. 'Forgot to get a photo of the matching head band. This dress pattern includes several views, and is fairly easy to make. However, the finished length is not on the envelope nor printed on the pattern pieces as stated. It is still a darling pattern. It seems that this view is intended to be mid-calf length. With a simple tie sash closing and side zipper fastener, this pattern will receive a pattern difficulty rating of:

Another Simplicity 1475 dress

Well, where have I been? Mother had to have a lot of reno work done on the house, so we have been living in a construction zone, lol. The living room ceiling had to be replaced, as well as the old kitchen floor. But I am back now, and have really missed you all. Gotta love Simplicity 1475, and pictured above is another dress from that darling pattern. Of course it went to my adorable granddaughter. The fabric is a white with chocolate damask print, and the bow is deep red cotton. I love brown and red together, do you? This pattern has shoulder straps, an elastic back, no fasteners, and a lined bodice. The bow slips through a single button hole hidden under the front pleat. Pretty nifty, huh? As before, this pattern gets a difficulty rating of:

Sunny Flower romper

Hello friends. A while ago, I made this adorable romper for my granddaughter. Don't you just love the flower appliqué? Instantly, this pattern became a favorite. The romper is made of 100% cotton gingham check fabric, in lilac and white. The pale yellow floral fabric used for the "pedals" neckline matches so well. Granddaughter got this romper a few months ago, and does love it. The pattern is called Sunny Flower Romper, and was purchased from Ruby Jean's Closet on Etsy. This pattern is fairly easy to construct, and the drawstring "pedals" neckline is the fastener. The flower stem appliqué can be done on machine (like this one), or by hand. The leg openings are elastic in casings. So, this too-cute pattern will get a pattern difficulty rating of:

Another jumper for granddaughter

Hello all. 'Hope your Sunday evening is going wonderful. So many thanks to all who wished well for my truck, Raven. Things are looking up. Pictured above is another jumper made from the Simplicity 1568A pattern. This one is made of wide wale corduroy in a deep shade of burgundy. The shoulder buttons are actually printed with a black and white houndstooth design. This is great for my granddaughter, as she and her family are Alabama Roll Tide © fans.
