Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange 2024

This table runner is from a pattern called Santa Surprise by Disa Designs. The website is no longer online, and the pattern was actually quite difficult to locate. {Especially not knowing the pattern's title}. Searching with the image got the results, eventually. The Santas and trees are machine zig-zagged appliqués. The runner was lenghtened by adding a few extra horizintal background strips. 'Wanted to make this runner for a really long time. Here are this table runner's stats:

♦ dimensions: 16.50" X 50" {before washing and drying}

♦ fabrics: 100% cotton fabrics, mostly from my stash

♦ backing: 100% cotton red print fabric

♦ batting: Warm N' Natural©

♦ quilting: machine-stitched free motion meandering and zig-zagged machine appliquéing with matching thread colors

♦ binding: 100% cotton fabric, solid dark green, machine and hand-stitched

Pantone® Quilt Challenge 2023

Recently I made this moon phases table runner for a challenge at: Saroy's Pantone® Quilt Challenge 2023- link party. Be sure to go check out all of the beautiful entries. Candy Corn is finished!

Candy Corn is a table runner pattern designed by Trina Kirkvold. The pattern example is larger than mine, as I did not have quite enough fabrics. This was my project for the recent Gremins, Goblins and Ghouls Blog Hop. 'Not usually a fan of ric-rack, but it compliments this pattern well. This ric-rack is not as wide as the example, but it does still peep out from along the sides. The free pattern can be found at: AllPeopleQuilt.com. Isn't it a super cute pattern? Here are this table runner's stats:

Gremlins, Ghouls and Goblins Blog Hop- Day 3

Good morning friends. Welcome to Day 3 of the Gremlins, Ghouls and Goblins Blog Hop, hosted by Joan at Moose Stash Quilting. Three of my projects are finished, and one is pictured with what is completed. First is the paper mache Haunted House. I have had it a few years, just never painted it. Now it is all spooky and ready for Halloween. Next is the little round paper mache box, painted black with spider web stamping and an orange lid. Then is the painted skeleton pumpkin. It was originally orange, and is now black and white. The unfinished project is the table runner. It still needs to be quilted, and will be getting that today and tomorrow. Safe Keeping: table runner

Last month Pam of: Heartspun Quilts hosted a fun quilt along called Safe Keeping. Here is my completed table runner. Better late than never, right? The fabrics are tiny prints on dark red, off white, and black backgrounds. My blocks are a bit larger than the instructions called for. This little runner looks awesome on the dining area table. Harvest Star table topper: finished

'Finally finished the Harvest Star table runner from the 2019 Autumn Jubilee event at: From My Carolina Home. This was gifted to our dear neighbor, who has stood beside us through many heartaches and joys through the years. The background mustard-colored print cotton does not read well in the photo. It is actually a small calico-type floral print in a darker mustard color. The other end has the same brown and mustard hourglass block. Here are the stats:

♦ dimensions: 16 1/2" X 60 1/2"

♦ fabrics: various 100% cotton fabrics from my stash

♦ backing: solid mustard

♦ batting: Warm N' Natural©

♦ quilting: machine-stitched straight lines with mustard-colored thread

♦ binding: machine and hand stitched, beige calico-type floral print

Braided table runner

Back in 2017, I won a Morris Earthly Paradise jelly roll from: Barbara of Civil War Quilts Blog. Last year, I completed a rail fence quilt with most of the strips. Most of the rest were sewn into this braided table runner. Is that the same as herringbone pattern? Yes, it was a UFO for a long time. These fabrics are definitely some of the most gorgeous ever aren't they? They are reproduction fabrics reminiscent of the 1874-1910 Art Nouveau era. Here are this table runner's stats:

♦ dimensions: 13 1/2" X 45"

♦ fabrics: Morris Earthly Paradise by Barbara Brackman for Moda Fabrics

♦ backing: pieced- grey with black floral print, and some Earthly Paradise jelly roll strips

♦ quilting: machine-stitched free-motion, meandering design

My Favorite Quilt Block: Blog Hop

Welcome to another day on the: Creatin' in the Sticks- My Favorite Quilt Block Blog Hop! This is my favorite quilt block- the Ribbon Star. Although an old pattern, contemporary fabrics make it a fresh modern spin on the traditional Sawtooth Star. I made some last summer for the Covered in Love July block drive, and fell in love with the block.

All About Strings Blog Hop: Kite Strings

Welcome to: Creatin' in the Sticks' All About Strings Blog Hop! I am one of the people sharing today, and my project is a wall hanging quilt. The kite block pattern is from Hey Let's Make Stuff.com, and is free. Kite Strings is made-up of two foundation-pieced string kite blocks with an aqua blender fabric to represent the sky. The machine quilting is straight line walking foot, with Warm N' Natural© batting. Kite Strings measures 13" X 38". This was so much fun to make! Sending happy Thanksgiving wishes to you all. This is an important holiday to our family, when we can all be together and visit while eating wonderful food. I am so very thankful for everything, and mindful of those in this world who have less or nothing at all. Praying that everyone will be happy and have plenty to eat today and all other days. Winterlude table topper

Hello everyone. 'Already getting in the holiday spirit. This small table topper was made a few years ago, with Winterlude collection fabrics by 3 Sisters for Moda. We all know that green is my favorite color. This fabric is so festive. The batting is Warm N' Natural©, and the backing is a green print. The machine quilting is meandering. The size is 18"X24". This could also be a cute quilt for a holiday critter doll, couldn't it?

Batik Scrappy table runner

Today is a nice today, although the skies are quite overcast. 'Perfect time to stay inside and sew or quilt, right? Recently, I was the lucky winner of Island Batik's Tradewinds collection. Connie at: Freemotion By The River hosted the giveaway. That's the completed table runner pictured above. The pattern, Batik Scrappy table runner, is designed by Connie. The batting is Warm N' Natural©, and the quilting is machine meandering with a taupe color thread that blends well. The backing is the same batik fabric as the binding. Sewn size is: 14"X40". Tradewinds is so lush and vivid, and I absolutely love it. 'See the fish, shells and seahorses in the batik designs? It's very beachy and calming. Sending more thanks to Connie.

Birthday gifts 2017

What a grand "50-something" birthday twin sister Janice and I had! We and our mother, along with Janice's son, really celebrated. My daughter called, and the day was awesome. Pictured above are my gifts. The batik table runner (an unquilted top now) is made of fabrics won from Connie of: Freemotion By The River. 'More photos when it is completed. My daughter Amanda is going to bring my gift soon, as she lives in TN and was afraid it would get broken via the mail. Mother, Janice and family all gave me fabric. Oh yeah, we know what that means: fabric for the quilt-alongs. The cute fabric purse and mug coaster are from Diane of: Lavender Dreams. She also included a cute 2017 calendar. Wow, all such perfect gifts. Sending heartfelt thanks to you all. Family and friends are most important of all, and the gifts are excellent extras. Prim blessings.

RAK from Linda Parker's Paradise Blog

Look what arrived in the mail. Yes, I have received yet another Random Act of Kindness (RAK). Linda from Parker's Paradise sent the darling prim table runner above. The side it is on now is the autumn side, with pumpkins, sunflowers, and fruits. Mother chose the fabric. She chose a pretty one, didn't she? The other side is a Christmas design.
