For Janice 1964-2019

On behalf of our family, we wish to thank you all for all of the prayers for my dear twin sister, Janice. With a heavy heart, she passed peacefully about three hours ago. We still do not know why her health failed so suddenly, but only that there were several factors involved. She did have many health issues and walked on a rollator. Mother and I had spent the day with Janice (and her husband) in palliative care yesterday. My cousin and her husband drove us there, about two and a half hours away, as I still cannot drive due to the leg cast. It was removed the day before, but the foot is still sore. We had to roll me up from the parking deck to the room in a wheelchair, but Janice is so worth it. Janice was a Godly woman- always kind and caring. She and her husband had been married for nearly thirty-six years, and have two adult children and two grandchildren.

I had never considered that although we entered this world only five minutes apart, that we would likely someday not leave it together. So lost now. I do not know how to live without my twin sister. For sure, things will not be as bright. Again, thank you all so much for your love. It truly is helping us right now. Blessings.

On a personal note...

Good morning friends. As you all know, I rarely mention personal subjects on this blog. However, my twin sister Janice has been in the hospital for nearly a month now. 'Still no diagnosis on her condition. Late Saturday, she was transported to another hospital in a larger city for other doctors to look at her situation. Our whole family is very worried about Janice. Your prayers will be very much appreciated. Thank you all so much for all of your love and concern. UPDATES WILL BE ON THIS POST. Blessings.

Raven the Ranger 1999-2016

'Been away for a while. Well, pictured above is my beloved Ranger pickup, "Raven". Yes, he "died" the other day. The dash wiring harness burned up... Although I am sad beyond words about this, at least no one was injured. Maybe it is silly, but as the old song says, "I Love My Truck". Yes, he is very old (1999 model), but still is a great truck. Raven can be repaired, and as soon as financially possible we will have him back to running. So, perhaps he is not actually dead but just very critically ill. You know how you just remember some things at moments like these? In the past, some fellow employees had told me that Raven was "just an old junky hoopty" for the junk yard. Those memories came to mind. People should not make fun of other people's rides, as it may be the best they can afford. I am just thankful to even own Raven. Who would keep such an old truck? Someone who loves the truck and can have it repaired for less than buying another used truck. After all, Ford no longer produces these Rangers. Meanwhile, I am without a ride. Please pray for me that all will be OK. I have spent the last 2 days crying and crying some more. The photo was made at happier times, before Raven burned up. 'Will be back soon with a more cheerful post.

*Christmas 2013*

Good afternoon, friends. 'Hoping your Christmas was wonderful. This year, we met at my twin sister's house because she is still in the wheelchair from the ankle surgery, and this house has no ramp. It was fun, and we really enjoyed ourselves. No photos were made, though. Some people preferred to not have their photo taken in a wheelchair, on crutches, etc... Of course, gotta always respect and honor people's right to privacy offline and online. My daughter and her family have had the flu and did not get to attend. My twin sister's daughter and her family were also unable to attend. They were all really missed.

Those of you who read this blog often are aware that our family has had many illnesses and accidents in 2013. In fact, it seems that someone is always sick or hurt. Another family member (who does not want to be identified online) has fallen and is in the hospital as this is being posted. Yet another has had foot surgery last week and is in recovery. I always try to keep this blog on an upbeat scale, however, am requesting prayers for our family at this time. Many of you already pray for us, and it is very much appreciated. I also pray for all of you and your families.

Wow, this makes a post nearly every day for a week. Blogging is so much fun, and many great friends have been and are being made. By the way, Face Book has finally lifted the ban on me (I had been banned for "Liking" too many things). That is good news.

Someone commented on my most recent giveaway win, that it seems like I am always winning something, lol. 'Cannot deny that. If shipping rates weren't so expensive, there would be more giveaways on this blog and they would be open to everyone, not only to contiguous US residents. All of my followers are loved and appreciated, regardless of where they reside. There is a giveaway for March 2014 being planned, so stay tuned for that. It will be Spring themed. We still have our Christmas decorations displayed. When do you usually take them down till the next Christmas?

image: xandert @ Morguefile.com

Good morning friends. 'Just a short post to thank all of you for your friendship, and for following and commenting on my blogs. Yesterday was a busy day... at the hospital again. My twin sister fell and broke her ankle, and the surgery was done yesterday. She is now doing as well as can be expected. We hope that she can return home tomorrow. Please pray for my dear twin sister and her family. She is a very nice person, and the best sister ever. Mother and I are on our way to the hospital to visit shortly. Thank you all so very much. Prim blessings.

'Just a quick update...

'Just a quick update on my family and me. My daughter and her family are recovering from strep throat, and doing better. My twin sister's MIL had a nasty fall, broke her back and had surgery. She has been in ICU for nearly 2 weeks, but is getting better daily. My twin sister twisted her ankle, but it is not broken. She is also doing better. My great-nephew battled such a terrible ear infection and is now all better. BIL's BIL had emergency gall bladder surgery 2 weeks ago, and he is also on the road to recovery. Please pray for all of them. After today, I will no longer have to wear the arm splint on my recently broken left arm. The arm is now getting stronger, slowly but surely. The wrist is still a bit larger than the other one, but all is OK. Whew! What a past few months it has been! On a happier note, sending-out a Happy 30th Anniversary to my twin sister and her husband today. Speaking of anniversaries...

In 74 days, this blog will celebrate her 3rd blogoversary. This year, let's do something fun. Stay tuned to see what's in store. (You knew I wouldn't tell just yet, lol!) 'Praying that all is well with everyone, dear friends. Prim blessings ♥

~Happy birthday Mother 2013~

Woo hoo, barely getting this posted on the 21st. Mother celebrated another birthday today, and the above photo is the prim pillow that I made for her. Twin sister Janice was also here for the party. We actually had ordered a gift for mother that did not get here on time, so the pillow is just an "extra". The ordered gift is a perfume that was popular after WWII, Evening In Paris. Janice and I went in together to get the perfume for mother. A good time was had by all, except for one sad event that cut the party short...

Janice's husband had to go to the hospital. He had been unable to even drink water for two days, and lost eight pounds! Thank God he was not hospitalized. He can now drink and eat again. Please pray for my brother-in-law. We are also praying for those in Oklahoma who suffered injuries and loss of life. Prim blessings ♥

♰ Goodbye to a dear friend ♰

Do you all remember your very first friend in grammar school or kindergarten? That friend is always someone special in your heart, right? Well, mine has passed away. I am sad beyond words. She was a wonderful friend, and loved her family and friends so much. Her spirit was uplifting to all who knew her. This passing is such a shock to me. Consider that at the age of only 25, she battled cancer and won. After all of that, now this. Prayers for her and her whole family. Mother and I will be attending the visitation on Tuesday. Once I thought that over 40 was "old". It really isn't, though, is it? Goodbye, dear friend. Heaven has really gained a blessed angel.

Prayer Request ♰

image: Darnok| Morguefile

A prayer request of you all. A block up from our house, they are doing construction, tearing down some old buildings to clear the block for a new bank. This afternoon, we saw ambulances and the police. The street was blocked off, and lights flashing. What had happened is really sad; one of the electricians was accidentally electrocuted, and of course could not be revived. Please join us in prayers for this family.

Prayer request ♰

Good morning, dear friends. Thank you all for your kind words regarding my upcoming surgery. To put it lightly, I am scared beyond words. They have already installed a temp filling for now, and I will begin my sedation medication tonight, for the surgery on Saturday morning. As soon as I am feeling all better, I will be blogging again. I do request prayers for my mother as well as for me, as she will be the one responsible for taking care of me through it all. She is truly an amazing person and the best mother ever. Love and hugs to you all. You are all greatly appreciated.

Christmas 2011 joys and woes...

'Guess y'all wonder where I have been. We had a good Christmas, with the exception that my daughter and her family did not get to come. We missed them greatly. The photo above is the delicious ham that Mother prepared for us all- a Christmas tradition in our family. The other "woe"- there I was, chomping away on the beloved ham, when all of a sudden OUCH! Unbelievably, on a holiday, I had chipped off a tooth! Instant pain. So, I have been in misery. Have been to the dentist, and have the appointment for the fix. Of course, this requires a surgeon. So, I bear with it until the surgery date. Please pray for me, as it is very scary. I will post some more photos of our Christmas when I feel better.

I also was the winner of the At Home With K Giveaway on Dec 12th, as well as one of the winners of *A Whimsical Christmas' Christmas Tree Contest*. How lucky is that? I'll be posting photos of those gifts when they arrive. 'Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas meals and family times.
