Happy 4th of July wishes to you all. This is a little pin keep that I made from block #51 in Kathleen Tracy's book Schoolgirl Sampler. It is named Patriotic. Perfect for today's holiday. 'Never can have too many pinkeeps, right? Do you ever make any patriotic projects?

Primitive Checkerboard Quilt- completed!

This quilt was a UFO from 2021, titled Primitive Checkerboard. Designed by Nancy Moore, the pattern is in a book titled Quilt Lover's Gifts and published by Leisure Arts, Inc.® 2012. Nancy's quilt is made of homespun and flannel fabrics, but I chose 100% cottons from my stash. The quilt has already found a home on the couch for late night TV watching time. Oh My Stars CIL Block Drive

Hello friends. Thank you for visiting my blog. Here are five quilt blocks for the bi-monthly charity quilt block drive at: Covered In Love. The theme is patriotic- red, white and blue. Hello all. How is your week going? We are getting rain and a bit warmer temps. 'So looking forward to Spring. Pictured above is my block for February in the: Civil War Quilts Blog Yankee Diary QAL. This one is called Susan B's Star, and mine is appliqéed. My blocks will all have one of three colors as backgrounds, and this one has a slate blue. Spring Tidings Swap 2015

Patriotic bird house

Happy 4th of July to you all. This is a patriotic themed bird house that I decorated some years ago, and forgot about until it was found just today. 'Thought today would be just the day to post about it. Everyone please be safe, especially if you use fireworks, and enjoy the holiday. Every year there is a festival along the Tennessee River. Many people in the South go to watch the professional fireworks show and enjoy a hotdog or grilled hamburger. Craft vendors are always there as well. How do you all celebrate the 4th of July? Thrifty Thursday: blue stoneware

Hello friends. For this Thrifty Thursday, are two cute little blue stoneware pots from our local Salvation Army store. Very patriotic, aren't they? They were also a real find at just .25¢ each. They look great with my other Americana/patriotic goodes. Perfect for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. Prim Summer blessings (the Summer solstice begins in 2 days!).

Spring Tidings 2014 Swap goodies!

Hello friends. Recently, I participated in Bumblebee Lane Cottage's Spring Tidings Swap. Allison of: Sew Many Girls was my partner, and she sent the beautiful goodies pictured above: a darling dancing Annie, a prim bunny tuck, a 5"X7" padded Spring blessings framed artwork, a wooden patriotic basket filled with fabric-covered eggs and Spanish moss, a stuffed antique tin tart mold, a green floral quilt square, three prim flowerettes, a cute prim bunny pail filled with fabric-covered eggs and Spanish moss, and a darling yellow prim chick tuck. ~Thrifty Thursday: patriotic signs~

Good morning, friends. For this week's Thrifty Thursday is two items that cost just .50¢ each. I usually do not purchase prim items from dollar stores as they are often mass-produced and machine-made, often made of "non-prim" products such as plastic. These, however, were too cute to resist. These garden stakes are made of wood and have wire trim with 2 rusty bells on each. 'Not sure how they would withstand outdoors weather, so they will be indoors with other prim items. The star is my favorite. Which do you like the best?

Sending-out a very happy birthday to my BIL today also. His wife, my twin sister, is still on the road to recovery and continuing to do better since her broken ankle surgery. Thank you all for the prayers and concern for my family. Prim blessings ♥

Happy 4th of July, friends. Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday. We have rain here in Alabama. No special plans, just relaxing. Every year for many years now, our town has a celebration on the local river. The festivities include a professional fireworks show from a river barge, live music, and plenty of vendors with good food and crafts. Our house is so close, that we can see the fireworks and hear the music. Some of our neighbors even make a bit of money by allowing people to park in their yards for a small fee and walk down to the festival. It is always crowded every year. ~Thrifty Thursday: Patriotic tin~

A few weeks ago, we went thrift shopping at the local Salvation Army. Not looking for anything in particular, I happened upon this lovely old patriotic tin. What a really thrifty deal at only .50¢! Although a bit rusty, it will be useful for storing small items. 'Kinda like the rusty-look. Do you all like shopping at thrift stores? I went scrappin' (a Southern term for searching for discarded scrap metal/tin) in our own basement the other day, and found some nice really old items. 'Will share those in an upcoming post. Prim patriotic bird house

These are two wonderful items I received from Natalie of Tins and Treasures. These are from her Tins & Treasures' Etsy shoppe. Since I was her 100th customer, Natalie added the cute little metal rooster can. If you haven't yet checked-out Etsy, you are missing a lot. The items are very pretty, and many of the Bloggers have shops there.

Luck has come my way yet again! I was one of the two winners in Vicky's Birthday Giveaway. I chose the wooden angel pictured above as my gift. It is approx. 14" tall, and has a hanger on the back. Red, white and blue are the patriotic colors. She is Annie-style, with a blue gingham bow on top of her head. So prim and cute! Thank you so much, Vicky. Americana holidays

Happy holidays to all! Welcome to the new followers, also. Thank you so much! The holidays are always so special. Christmas is one of our family's favorites. This is when we can see family members who live far away and cannot visit often. The memories are to be cherished forever.
