Welcome to another Thrifty Thursday find. These Mason© jars were actually in a cardboard box on the floor at a local thrift store. They were only .50¢ each, so I got them all except one (it had a small crack in it). They will be used for crafting, and two have already been used, lol. 'Already posted about them. Since long ago all we had in our basement and under our kitchen sink had been found, these were a happy find. Have you found any great items lately?

Thrifty Thursday: old flour sifter

Good morning friends. Look what else was found in the [old] original kitchen cabinets during our kitchen reno: this old metal flour sifter! It is aged a lot, but does still function. The handle knob is wood. Since the house was built in the 1940's, it could be of that era. Wow, what to do with it. Would you just leave it as is, or decorate it a bit? All I did was clean it up. Oh, and the cost was free, lol. Prim blessings.

Thrifty Thursday: What will $1.00 buy nowadays?

Well, to our surprise, a brand new 100% cotton t-shirt! And, of all places, at a local grocery store. There was a big table with tons of the t-shirts. Mother and I did find some minor flaws (a few hanging threads and small sections of seams that needed to be resewn), but those were easily mended. Perfect! So, we bought several for Dress A Girl t-shirt dresses as well as several for ourselves. Some are manufactured by name-brand makers. Have you ever found a deal like this, in an unexpected place? Thrifty Thursday: bird house

Wow, 'just realized that it has been about 8 months since I last posted a Thrifty Thursday. So, pictured above is a darling wood bird house that was only $2.00 at a local thrift store. Of course the green roof caught my eye (fave color). It looks so Spring-y and cheerful. This bird house was actually purchased several months ago. What a cute knick-knack to decorate with.

Thrifty Thursday: floral door wreath

Hello, are you all having a wonderful day? Yes, it's Thrifty Thursday again. This time is a pretty floral door wreath that was found at a local thrift store for only $2.50. 'Couldn't decide if it is summer or autumn decoration, but it has been hanging on my back door for a few months. Don't you just love door decorations? Usually the ones at a thrift store are either damaged or really small, so this one was a great find. It is really simple yet cheerful. Which would you call it- summer or autumn? Prim blessings.

Thrifty Thursday: baby shoes

Good Thrifty Thursday to you all. Pictured above are 2 pair of baby shoes, found at a local thrift store for just $1.00 per pair. They were originally bought for 2 of my dolls, but are too large for their feet. So, any ideas on what they could be used for? Oh goodness, this is actually Tuesday. Well, anyway, lol...

Thrifty Thursday: remnant fabrics

More Thrifty Thursday finds! Pictured above are seven cotton fabric remnants, including 2 pieces of denim and a piece of plaid wool. Each piece is approximately 3/4-1 yard, so plenty big enough for crafting or sewing small clothing items such as children's shorts or skirts. For .50¢ each, the grand total was only $3.50. How awesome is that. Plus, it is always good to support the local small businesses. After all, how many of us can resist the chance to buy fabric, lol! Also sending warm Mother's Day blessings to you all for Sunday.

Thrifty Thursday: floral chest & straw hat

Happy Thrifty Thursday friends. Pictured above are two items from our local thrift store. The mini-chest is approx. 12" tall, and is painted in gorgeous floral roses. The drawers open for storage. It was a real find, at just $3.00. The mini doll-sized straw hat is approx. 7" wide, and was only .50¢. 'Don't really need these items, but thought they may come in handy some day, lol. Have you been thrift-store shopping lately?

"M" is for Macey

Good morning friends. Pictured above is another Thrifty Thursday find: a wooden "M" initial for my granddaughter Macey. At only .50 ¢, well worth the time to re-paint it. Macey's walls are pink, so another color was chosen for this initial- aqua. It was good luck that this thrift store find is actually an "M" and not another letter. 'Want to see the original? Thrifty Thursday: vegetables in a bottle

Look at the two items that I found at a local thrift store: a little glass jar of vegetables and a cute damask box. Both items were at really great prices, too: .50¢ each. I have always loved the veggies in a bottle. So, are they real or fake, lol! Either way, this will look good in a kitchen. The damask box, well, 'just thought it was really pretty. It will be a good what-not. Tomorrow is the Spring solstice, and warmer weather will arrive soon. These items remind me of nice Spring weather. Prim blessings to you all.

Thrifty Thursday: old tin kettle

Hello friends. Pictured above is an old tin kettle, found at a local thrift store for only $1.00. How awesome is that? The handle is white ceramic with a beautiful blue crosshatch design. That obvious rusting is a plus, right? Oddly, looking at the kettle's bottom, there are several of what appear to be shotgun holes! 'Looks like someone used this kettle for target practice. With the spray from a shotgun wad, it's fairly easy to hit a target at least one time, lol. No doubt, it now has a better and safer home with me now. It is a nice old decoration item. Do you like collecting old kitchen ware?

On another note, Alabama is experiencing yet another late-winter ice storm. The icy sleet fell all through the night last night, leaving us with about 2" of frozen roads this morning. Schools and many businesses are closed. We had made a quick store-run in the AM of Wednesday before it all started. You all stay safe and warm. Prim Winter blessings.

Thrifty Thursday: Live Love Laugh frame

Happy Thrifty Thursday to you all. This week is a darling frame that was found at a thrift store for only $1.50. It has an opening for a 4"X6" photo, and the words Live Love Laugh cut out in the triple mat. The lower mat is red, and the top mat is white. The middle mat is black. That cute red heart cut out peeps from the underlying red mat, and the wording is revealed from the underlying black mat. There's just something about matting that lends a professional touch to a portrait, isn't there? Gotta love 3D visuals. This frame is a modern contemporary style (which my daughter loves) in gloss black, and was part of the Valentine's day goodies for my daughter and her husband this year. Did you all have a happy Valentine's Day?

Thrifty Thursday: cute cow mug

It's Thrifty Thursday again. This time is a cute little ceramic mug. Found at a local thrift store, this item was only .50¢. I love the bright paint design of a cow in the pasture. 'Not sure if it's intended to be drank from... it will look nice as a shelf item though. Too bad there was only one available. Often, these type of items are cracked or chipped. This one is in excellent condition. Cuteness at a great price, isn't it? Prim Winter blessings.

*Merry Christmas and a sleigh*

Good morning, and merry Christmas to you all. Today is also Thrifty Thursday, so here are some holiday-related finds. The metal sleigh is in like-new condition and was only $2.50. It is nearly 10" tall. 'Caught my eye immediately. The red and green wicker basket and the box of green glass tree ornaments were also a real finds at only $1.00 each. See how one green tree ornament is missing? That is OK, since all items were purchased at a thrift store. Total cost: $4.50 for all three items. 'Still cannot beat those prices. Thrifty Thursday: Snowman Make-Do

This week's Thrifty Thursday item is the vintage brass candlestick pictured above. It was a real find at only $1.00 in a local thrift store. 'Love the tarnishing, don't you? The Snowman decoration is from a free tutorial by Willa at: The Old Cupboard Door Blog. The head is made from a styrofoam ball covered in joint compound and painted. Very crafty, right? Sending many thanks to Willa for this tutorial. I love how the snowman's neck is painted red & white like a candy cane. The great thing about snowmen is that they are nice decorations for all of winter, not just during the Christmas holidays. 'May have put a bit too much mica "snowflakes" on him though. Thrifty Thursday: red wicker sleigh

Hello friends. It's that day again: Thrifty Thursday. Pictured above is a festive red wicker sleigh. It is quite large, approx. 12" in length and 7" in height. This will look so good filled with pine cones from our yard, or even a prim santa or snowman. 'Know how when you see something that makes you say wow? This sleigh was a great find at a local thrift store, clearance priced at only .10¢ See the price sticker? The sleigh was once $1.00, which was a really good price. The clearance price made it an even more thrifty find. What would you put inside this sleigh?

Thrifty Thursday: old wood spools

It's Thrifty Thursday again. Pictured above are three old wood thread spools found at a local antique shop. I am not sure how old they are, but they do look prim and vintage. These were a good find at only $4.50 for all three. 'Thinking they will look nice on a shelf in my sewing area. Actually, these old wood spools are not easily found around this town. Thrifty Thursday: Gorgeous smocking!

This is a gorgeous smocked bishop dress, found at a local thrift store for only $4.00! So, it is another Thrifty Thursday item. What a find, especially since this dress is from a boutique called Royal Child. Isn't the white with brown floral fabric simply luscious? The contrasting red smocking just adds to its beauty. 'Know how when you see something and right away you gotta have it? That was the case with this dress. Please continue reading.

Thrifty Thursday: Corduroy fabric bundle

Hi friends. Here is another great Thrifty Thursday find: 5 pieces of corduroy all bundled up. There is the most of the grey (3 yds.), 1 .75 yds. of the lilac, 33" of the olive, and approx. 15" scraps each of the lt. pink and burgundy pieces. All for only $3.00! It is always a concern that fabric from a thrift store may be cut-on and be in irregular pieces, but these are nicely cut. How lucky is that? The lilac will be a jumper for granddaughter. What would you do with the rest of this new corduroy? Prim crafting? Sewing clothing?

Thrifty Thursday: Iron spoon rest and grater

It's Thrifty Thursday again, and this time I've got two great old finds. They both came from our local thrift store, and are quite old. The spoon rest is made of black cast iron, and does have some rust on it. All the better, right? It was only .75¢. The cheese grater also has some rust present, and is still kinda sharp. It cost just .25¢! The total spent: $1.00 for these treasures. Don't you just love great finds like these?
