Two new baby bonnets!

Here are two new baby bonnets for the soon-to-arrive grandson. They are both pixie-style free patterns. Don't you just love the little pointed style? So so cute. The one on the left is from Purl Soho: Winter Baby Bonnet is made of wool, and the self-fabric ties are simple under the chin. The black and white buffalo plaid one is from Sweet KM: Blizzard Bonnet is cotton with fleece lining. It has two narrow under the chin ties. Both are newborn size. Hoping daughter and son-in-law love these. Have you ever made any baby bonnets or hats?

More gifts for Jack's Basket

These are the additional gifts that I sent to: Jack's Basket, a 501(c) nonprofit organization concerned with babies affected by Down Syndrome. Four baby-safe newborn pacifiers and three fleece caps were included with the flannel baby quilt (see it here: Giraffe quilt). It was all done for the annual Hands 2 Help Comfort Quilt Challenge, hosted by Sarah of: Confessions of a Fabric Addict. Feeling good that many babies and their families will be helped by all of the gifts that everyone has sent.

Baby bibs for Little Lambs Foundation for Kids

These are the two baby bibs that I made for the Hands 2 Help 2018 event. They went to: Little Lambs Foundation for Kids, in Utah. 'Thought one in blue and one in pink would be nice. Don't you just love that elephants print fabric? They were mailed along with the blue and brown baby quilt. The foundation sent a heartfelt thank you card to me via "snail mail". It is always such a great joy to participate in this charity event. Bibs are quite easily and quickly sewn, and are really necessities for babies. Have you ever made any baby bibs? Prim blessings.

Hands 2 Help 2018 quilt is finished!

Baby girl bubble suit

Good morning. Here is a darling little bubble suit that I made for my niece and her husband's new baby girl. It is Simplicity 8098 A, and there are also versions for a baby boy. The pattern is quite simple to construct, with a mock shirt and a three-button back closing (I used snaps instead). There are also snaps in the crotch for easy diaper changing. Baby shower quilt

'Remember the Lovey Giraffes crib quilt for that baby shower on 18 October? Pictured above is the happy mother at the shower. Stevie is a good friend, and we are all so proud of her. She and her husband also have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. Stevie recently graduated, and is now a nurse. My twin sister and I went to high school with both of Stevie's parents, back in the day, lol. The whole family is near and dear to us. Looking forward to baby Ryder's arrival. Don't you just love sewing/quilting for people like them, who really do appreciate it? Also sending a happy birthday wish to my BIL Wendell today. Y'all have a safe Halloween.

Baby bib & burp cloth

Hello friends. Pictured above are 2 gifts for a friend's baby shower. The bib and the burp cloth are made of 100% cotton fabric with a tonal grey chevron print. Their backings are white terry cloth. Really modern and contemporary for today's baby. These were easily and quickly made. When my daughter was a baby, I just used a clean cloth diaper as a burp cloth. Times have surely changed, haven't they? (Some modern parents have never even seen a cloth diaper, lol!). These patterns are free. The site no longer exists. A good tip for sewing with terry cloth is to cut out the fashion fabric and place it right sides together onto a slightly larger rectangle of terry cloth. Sew and then cut out around the item. This way, the terry cloth won't stretch out of shape while being sewn. Don't you just love sewing for babies? Since these patterns are so simple, they earn a pattern difficulty rating of:

Harvest Gatherings Swap 2015

Lookie what came in the mail yesterday! Swap goodies from Bumblebee Lane Cottage's annual Harvest Gatherings Swap. My swap partner was Debbie of: Barefoot Primitives Blog. Wow, Debbie really did spoil me. She sent: a darling raggedy doll, a muslin turkey, 2 muslin pumpkins, 2 wax potpourri cakes, some vintage milk caps, 3 ears of muslin corn, a bundle of cinnamon sticks, a bundle of little candles, a sewing notions doll on a vintage spool, 5 bowl filler pillows with sunflowers (1 has Hebrews 4:14 verse), a note card set with pretty bird graphics, an owls pin keep and 2 cakes of beeswax, a vintage baby frock, a blue note pad roll with a wooden writing pen, a rusty wire with ladybugs and sunflowers trimming, and 2 darling prim hang tags. Thrifty Thursday: baby shoes

Good Thrifty Thursday to you all. Pictured above are 2 pair of baby shoes, found at a local thrift store for just $1.00 per pair. They were originally bought for 2 of my dolls, but are too large for their feet. So, any ideas on what they could be used for? Oh goodness, this is actually Tuesday. Well, anyway, lol...

⚘ Pink gingham newborn outfit ⚘

Don't you just love newborn babies? The outfit above is one that I made for a friend's newborn daughter. The fabric is 100% cotton with a pink & white gingham print. It features a pleated front, back zipper, rick-rack hem trimming and a lower left side flower appliqué. I almost never like pre-made appliqués, so made this one myself. The pattern is super easy, and is Simplicity 4243. Not pictured is the headband and bloomers that match the dress.
