Welcome Autumn 2023!

Way back in 2018, I participated in the Autumn Jubilee hosted by Carole of: From My Carolina Home. The stitch along was for a wool pumpkin, and I made mine into this little flower pocket. Somehow, 'never got posted on this blog. Carole even mentioned the pocket on her blog {belated thank you} in a wrap-up post. Now, some 5 years later, here it is. Wishing all of you a happy first day of the Autumn solstice. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. Is the weather cooler where you live?

Autumn Jubilee QAL: wool penny rug

Pictured above is the darling wool penny rug from the Autumn Jubilee celebration going on over at: From My Carolina Home. My rug was made of scrap wool pieces, as no stores here locally carry any wool felt. 'Did not have any mustard-colored wool, so a quick research suggested what colors to mix to achieve the color. Using some dyes that I already have, a mustard color was possible. The leaves are appliquéd, and the back is an olive-colored wool. Many thanks to Carole for this fun jubilee. Hey, the little thrift store candle and base looks awesome with this penny rug, doesn't it?

Happy Thanksgiving 2015

Happy Thanksgiving wishes to you all. 'Hope everyone is safe and happy. So much good food today. Most importantly, family is here and making memories. Pictured above is a little appliquéd quilt/place mat from a pattern called Bertie's Year: November by Bonnie Sullivan at: All Through The Night. It finished at 13"X17", and is made of wool felt. The quilting is meandering style all over. There is supposed to be lt. green feather stitching around the center rectangle, but I just could not get that stitch done correctly. So, it's better there is no stitching than poorly done stitching, right? 'Wish I could have made all 12, for every month of the year. Did you make any Thanksgiving decor this year?

*Merry Christmas Swap with Becky*

Look at all of the wonderful goodes that I have received in Bumblebee Lane Cottage's: *Merry Christmas 2013 Swap*. My partner was Becky of: Ginger Creme Hollow, and boy did she spoil me. From left to right: snowman magnets, notepad with birdhouses graphic, red wool cardinal bird (my favorite bird species), bag of winter bowl filler, a snowman ornie, snowman pillow with rusty bells, rusty star ornie, green homespun owl, set of 4 prim mug coasters, snowman doll, and a ceramic coffee mug with owl graphics. Not pictured (woops!) a sweet smelling butter creme vanilla tart that I am already using. Thank you so much, Becky. Thanks to Amy also, our host for this awesome swap. Good morning friends. Look at the beautiful new wool. Isn't it pretty? Margie from: Hungry Hook Primitives specially dyed this for me. Yes, there are plans for this wool. Hounds tooth is one of my favorite patterns, and this blue is such a luscious shade. Wool is such a great fabric for prim crafting. 'Love the grubby hang tag and card that Margie included also. 'Gotta love wool! Thank you so much Margie.
