Thrifty Thursday: floral door wreath

Hello, are you all having a wonderful day? Yes, it's Thrifty Thursday again. This time is a pretty floral door wreath that was found at a local thrift store for only $2.50. 'Couldn't decide if it is summer or autumn decoration, but it has been hanging on my back door for a few months. Don't you just love door decorations? Usually the ones at a thrift store are either damaged or really small, so this one was a great find. It is really simple yet cheerful. Which would you call it- summer or autumn? Prim blessings.

*Decorating has begun*

Good morning friends. Have you started to decorate for the holidays? 'First thing we usually do is hang the door wreaths. The photo is of the wreath on my front door. It is similar to the one from 2012, but this one has the large bells on it. I tend to use the more simple wreaths. The blue shades are a color palette that I plan to use one year, as they remind me of winter snow. Some people prefer the pinks and purples, the more "glitzy" colors. What is your style? Traditional or contemporary? Prim blessings.

Hello friends. This is my Christmas wreath for 2013. Yes, it is store-bought. However, I did add a prim touch to it with a burgundy plaid homespun bow added to its top. Sometimes simple is OK, right? I have always loved wreaths, and door-decorating. When my twin sister and I were young, our parents would "wrap" the front door in red or green Christmas paper as a backdrop for the door wreath. Aren't childhood holiday memories just so precious? Today is officially the beginning of the Winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. 'Looking forward to the upcoming holidays. This year, we will be having ours at my twin sister's house. Are you all decorated and ready for the fun festivities?

This is one of our Christmas wreaths for 2012. We did purchase it, but I added some of the decorations to help it look more prim. Have you all got door wreaths? Soon, we will decorate our mantel. On Monday the 26th, I offered a free ornie to a follower, on the spur of the moment. The winner was Diane of: ~Lavender Dreams~. ~Autumn Door Wreath 2012~

This is our Autumn door wreath. I made it some years ago. Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. They remind me of warmer weather. The plaid ribbon and the "leafy" ribbon are in luscious seasonal shades of orange, mustard, avocado, and burgundy. This is a large wreath, as the photo shows. Decorating doors is one of my favorite hobbies. Do any of you also enjoy decorating your doors for the seasons? Prim blessings to all.

"Found Things" art

Good morning, friends. While I was in college, we used to do a project called "Found Things". Have you all ever heard of that? It is a creative art adventure in which you can use only items that you already have or that you find and do not obtain especially for the project. Kinda like "make-do". This straw wreath was at a local thrift store, with only some pink flowers. Seeing potential, I bought it for $2 and started creating. It is on my back door. This was an easy, simple project but very fun. Do any of you ever do "Found Things" art? I'd love to hear your comments.
