⚘ Pink gingham newborn outfit ⚘

Don't you just love newborn babies? The outfit above is one that I made for a friend's newborn daughter. The fabric is 100% cotton with a pink & white gingham print. It features a pleated front, back zipper, rick-rack hem trimming and a lower left side flower appliqué. I almost never like pre-made appliqués, so made this one myself. The pattern is super easy, and is Simplicity 4243. Not pictured is the headband and bloomers that match the dress.

Here is the close-up of the dress flower appliqué. A covered button is in the center. Isn't this Simplicity 4243 pattern totally adorable? It also includes a romper pattern and two hat patterns.
This pattern is mostly easy to construct, except for the appliqué and zipper, so its rating is:

Fairly Easy

How adorable!Nice job!
My little granddaughter
is growing so fast. It makes
you sad they can only wear
those cute things a few times.
I know she will love it.
