My first quilt!

My first quilt is finally completed. Well, it's actually a small doll-sized quilt at 15"X15" square. There are 4 100% cotton fabrics used: solid pine green, solid burgundy, tan with burgundy hearts print, and a burgundy with cream, rose, and olive floral print. That last fabric is about the prettiest I have ever seen. Too bad there isn't any more of it. The pattern is one that I just made-up myself. Every square is diagonally stitched over a layer of wool felt and solid brown cotton backing fabric. All is machine-stitched, except the top layer binding edge that is hand-stitched. 'Had some trouble mitering the corners with RA, but they turned-out good eventually. This doll-sized quilt is going to be included in an upcoming swap. Have you ever made a quilt? Which do you prefer? Machine or hand-stitching, or a combination of both?

Nice job Danice, looks good!! I have dabbled in quilting for yrs. but I'm not real good at hand stitching.

Oh Danice that is so adorable! I wish I was able to make a quilt but I am so not that talented! I remember last year you made that darling dress and stuff for a giveaway...you are so talented!
Be blessed,

Your little quilt came out beautiful! Love the colors! I have been into quilting for about year now and I just love it! I prefer to machine quilt just because it's quicker. I do mostly small items (such as runners and wall hangings) but one day, I would like to tackle a bigger project. :-) Happy Holidays!

Oh, Danice! Your quilt is fabulous!
I admire you for even trying, the idea of all those pieces scares me.
It turned out beautifully! Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
Keep creating!

How wonderful! I'm so proud of you! I've always sewed but never made a quilt. I need to make one for my dolls! Love the colors you chose and you're smart to figure out how! Holiday hugs!

Very cute--a great beginning! How has the wool felt held up as a batting?

Thank you all. Mari, the wool felt batting, I hope has held up, lol. 'Don't know, as this little quilt was given as a gift.

This is a fun first quilt. It was a good size for a first quilt.
