Patriotic with ruffles

Good morning friends. Soon it will be the 4th of July holiday, and pictured above is the outfit I made for my darling granddaughter Macey. This is Simplicity 2171, view C plus the head band. The fabrics are 100% cotton in red, white and blue. This time, 'made knotted shoulder straps as the pattern calls for. For another outfit by this same pattern, a back sash tie was created. Wishing there had been enough of the printed fabric for the pants ruffles... Since it is a one-way design print, there was not quite enough. So, the navy fabric was used instead. Did I already say, adore this versatile pattern! Since there are two buttonholes to work, and a lot of ruffling, plus some lining, my pattern difficulty rating is:

To see the matching head band, follow the link below my signature. Prim Summer blessings.
Here is the matching head band for the Simplicity 2171 patriotic outfit. It is sewn of the same fabrics. The navy bow is hot-glued on the left side. Which do you prefer, head bands or hair bows? Both?

  1. Oh that is too darling! I love my nephew to bits but sure would be fun to dress a girl!
    Happy 4th Danice!
    Be blessed,
