Finally, here it is: the completed doll crib! It now has two coats of satin white paint + a coat of matte clear finish. The bedding is a colorway of grey, pink and white. The dust ruffle is pink with white polka dots. The fitted sheet is grey and white houndstooth fabric, and the quilt is a grey ground with pink and white damask print. The backside of the quilt is solid pale pink. The quilting is machine meandering. A scrap of Warm N' Natural© worked perfectly for the quilt. To see a close-up of the bedding, follow the link below my signature.
Here is a close-up of the doll crib bedding. The machine meandering quilting is done in a grey thread, so it is not too visible. The new platform for the mattress is a double layer of foam board. The mattress is a 3" thick piece of foam. It is now difficult to imagine that this doll crib was once two separate doll beds forty-something years ago. Finished outside dimensions: 17 1/2" length X 19" height X 10" depth. Perfect for 15"-16" baby dolls! If not for fear of compromising the crib's structure, 'really wish some of those lower horizontal slats could have been removed. Well, they don't look too bad anyway. What a true joy this project has been. 'Taught me a lot for sure. Let's hope that granddaughter will enjoy this doll crib as much as I once did back in the late '60's.
Blessings, Danice G.

Thank you Val. It did turn out as planned. Yeah, it did take a bit of time to complete. Granddaughter should love it.
