Exploding Stars quilt top completed!

This quilt is from a past QAL that Sarah of: Confessions of a Fabric Addict hosted last winter. The pattern is Exploding Stars, and as soon as I saw it, 'had to make one. Do you ever do that? Please comtinue reading to see this quilt's back, and stats.

The backing is pieced, because I love how the bright colors contrast with the grey. Finally, this quilt is completed.

♦finished size: 64" square

♦fabrics: 100% cotton solids from my stash

♦backing: same grey as front, with pieced row of front star fabrics

♦binding: same grey as the backing, faced by machine and by hand

♦batting: Hobbs Heirloom® Natural 100% Cotton

♦machine quilting: free-motion meandering

♥ Completed WIP quilts in 2018: 4 ♥

  1. Wow, that is beautiful. And so is your sewing table and chest. I have one just like it only painted dull black. I love the green!

    1. Thanks Amy. I am glad that the grey works for this quilt. 'Didn't really want to do a white background.

    1. Thank you Sherry. I realized only after posting, that the title should not say quilt "top", as the whole quilt is finished. To change that would send all subscribers a notice of a new post, and the link party link would not work (wrong url), so I am leaving the title as-is. 'Glad you also like the strip of colors on the backing. I love pieced backs.
