Yankee Diary quilt is finished!

Well, finally, here is my finished Yankee Diary quilt from the 2017 QAL at: Civil War Quilts Blog. This was a fun QAL that featured a different Civil War era quilt block every month. PLease continue reading to see this quilt's back and stats.

Some blocks were appliquéd, some had wording. I learned how to piece a quilt top with varying size blocks, plus a lot of history. Barbara's blog always provides great instructions and historical information. Here are this quilt's stats:

♦finished size: 42" X 54"

♦fabrics: Civil War era reproduction 100% cottons from my stash

♦backing: brown cotton

♦binding: same brown cotton as backing, by machine and hand

♦batting: Hobbs Heirloom® Natural 100% Cotton

♦machine quilting: meandering free-motion

~Linking-up with: Elm Street Quilts' One Monthly Goal Finish: May~

♥ Completed WIP quilts in 2018: 13 ♥

    1. Thanks Tonia. Yes, I chose my own fabrics and colors. Only the block patterns were supplied for the QAL. Barbara gave fabric suggestions, as the quilt is Civil War era reproduction themed.

  7. That is an exceptional quilt and you did a great job on it. In the above comment you said you hoped someone would enjoy it. You're not keeping this beauty? I hope it is going to someone special after all that work. BTW, in your comment message, you said comments with a link will not be approved. What setting do I change to do that?
