Good morning to you all! This is my post for the Quilter's Meet & Greet 2019. I have been sewing for 40+ years, and decided to learn to quilt about five years ago. 'Learned a lot, and still learning for sure. I have quite an eclectic taste in quilt styles, loving both reproduction and modern-contemporary designs and fabrics. Looking at my quilts, you will often see shades and tones of my favorite color, green.
The quilt in this post is one of my favorites. It is titled Exploding Stars, and is from a 2017 quilt-along that was hosted by Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict. It is a favorite because of the pattern, and the vivid colors. Really fun to make. The quilt measures 64" square, with a faced binding.
Be sure to visit all of the other quilters and comment on their excellent work. The Blog Hop runs through the month of September. The links are on the Meet & Greet page (image link below).

Nice I really like that Exploding star pattern too!
Your exploding star quilt is striking, Danice - bright, bold and fun.
That quilt catches my eye every time I see it!
Hi Danice. I love the bold colours in your quilt. It is just beautiful. For your info I don't seem to be able to follow you through your blogger button.
that is a pretty neat quilt
Good morning and thanks for sharing your quilt and a little bit about you with us. That quilt is stunning. I 'm really sorry I didn't make it at the time but maybe yours will be the incentive I need to go back and finally do it.
Beautiful quilt! I can see why you like it so much. Visiting from the Quilters Meet & Greet!
Hi Danice! Love those exploding stars, and I didn't know your favorite color was green. I'm particularly drawn to lime green, or bright greens, but I like the olive greens as well. It's been fun to learn a bit more about you!
Love those star within a star block.
That is a great quilt! The color choices are wonderful!
Love the large bold stars!
Very pretty exploding stars quilt and so fun to participate in a quilt along!! Nice to meet you.
Hi Danice! I have to ask how your blog came to be named Homespun Hannah? And, it's not possible for you to have been quilting for 40 years - your picture shows you to be about 35. Your quilt is beautiful and Sarah is a wonderful host for her QAL. ~smile~ Roseanne
What a fun quilt! Sarah is a dear and her patterns and SALs are so much fun. Fun to be participating with you!
Wow, thank you all so much. I am finally getting back into the swing and quilting and sewing again. 'Took a bit of a rest after losing Janice.
I have never made a "solids" quilt, the exploding stars quilt is beautiful. I may venture into solids on my next quilt.
I didn’t know you have only been quilting for 5 years! Cool! Love your highlighted quilt.
Your Exploding Stars quilt is wonderful, Danice! I like both traditional and modern quilts, too - they're all fun to make!
I love the color. It does explode.
Exquisite and keeps the viewer busy. Nice work.

My About page explains the Homespun Hannah name. It is true that I have been sewing for 40 years, as I am 55 (born in 1964). Began sewing around age 13, which was 42 years ago. Started quilting about 5 years ago.The profile photo was made when I was 50. At age 35, I looked much younger.
Thank you everyone! Wow at all of the nice comments!
Fabulous quilt, very bold. Lovely to find your blog today. x
Love your star quilt. It's nice to meet new bloggers!
Oh yes, I love your quilt; I remember it well! Very striking. So has quilting taking over the sewing you used to do?!
That is a gorgeous quilt Danice!
What a stellar (!) quilt -- I like green, too. Glad to meet you in the linkup lineup.
Love star quilts and this one is awesome. Love the ginormous stars and your color choices. The gray background is perfect.

Thank you, and yes- sewing now takes a "back seat" to quilting, except for clothing for my granddaughter, until she thinks she is "too old" for granny's hand-made clothing.
I remember that quilt! Thanks for sharing with the Quilter's Meet and Greet.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
I love your Exploding Star quilt it's just beautiful with its bold colours and grey background. I'm glad I dropped in to visit from the 2019 Quilters Meet & Greet.

Wonderful quilt to showcase for the meet and greet - it's super cool!
Love the colors in your exploding stars! So bright and bold!
Green, any green... is my favorite !! and I love your stars. thanks for sharing. it was nice to meet you.
I remember that quilt! I love the design and that you used solids. I have never made a quilt in all solids...my “stash” (aka fabric hoarder’s paradise) has very few solids. What’s a quilter to do? Guess i’ll Just have to go fabric shopping-! I did a great deal of sewing clothes in the past, too. My husband used to love the aloha shirts I made for him. Now I would rather quilt and it’s worth buying his shirts instead!
Hi Danice, that's a great quilt. Congrats!
Hi Danice. I too started sewing at age 12 and didn't get into quilting until I was about 50. I was thinking that it would make a good retirement hobby (along with gardening) and it sure does. I love quilting and wish I had started younger.
Pretty Exploding Stars! Great to know you better, Danice!
Love your vivid colors - gives a happy feeling!
Those stars are stunning, love the grey background that surrounds a star so well.
Thank you all so much. This quilt was a bit difficult for me, not being good at math. Thanks to Sarah's thorough instructions it came together nicely. And look- no chopped-off star points! Yay!
Hi Danice! I am Jayne, a fellow featured guest on the quilter's meet and greet. I am a procrastinator, and am just now finishing up the visits to all the quilters. Shameful, yes, but I did want to get a comment and a visit in for everyone. I have been quilting for about as long as you - maybe longer - and I, too, cannot commit to one particular style - I love reproductions and soft florals and wild Kaffe Fassett's. And I am quite all right with that.
