The Winter Blues Blog Hop

Joining Carla of: 'Creatin' in the Sticks- The Winter Blues Blog Hop. Our creations have to, of course, include some shade or tone of the color blue. My first project is the Crossed Canoes lap quilt. Please continue reading for comments,and this quilt's stats.


Thanks to Kathleen of KathleenMcMusing.com for the free templates for the block. It is now one of my favorites! Shout-out to Carla for hosting this fun blog hop. There is a lot more to follow, but first, here are this quilt's stats:

♦ dimensions: 33 1/2" SQ

♦ fabrics: various 100% cotton blue and white fabrics from my stash

♦ backing: navy with white floral print

♦ batting: Warm N' Natural©

♦ quilting: machine-stitched echoes with matching threads in the canoes | machine meandering in the background and borders

♦ binding: machine and hand stitched, solid navy

Next is my 18" SQ pillow cover sewn of various navy and white fat quarters. The machine-stitched quilting is echoes. The back is a navy envelope opening for the pillow insert. You'll notice there is also a 9" SQ Crossed Canoes mug mat, along with a 2020 Lighthouses mini calendar . If you'd like to win the mug mat and the calendar (pillow cover and quilt are not included), here are the rules:
