Meet Gourdon. He is all ready for Halloween and Autumn with his gourd head and cute attire. He is my project for the Something Wicked Blog Hop, hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt. Do you think that he is OK to sit out in the room any time of the year? His face is hand-painted {a skill that I am still trying to improve at}. The entire doll is coffee-stained. Gourdon is actually the 6th doll that I have made from a Sanker Studios pattern. Do you ever make any dolls? This is my 990th blog post- getting close to that 1,000 mark! Thank you all who visit/comment and/or follow. You truly make me smile. Please continue reading for comments, and for a full list of all of the blog hoppers.

Gourdon is fantastic!
Gourdon is really neat! You did a great job with the face--I can't imagine what mine would look like if I tried it... Thanks for sharing!
Gourdon is great! Love the name, since he has a gourd head. Your painted face looks good to me. I used to make dolls and I do make an occasional knit doll or stuffed toy.
Oh my goodness, I think it is perfect to sit out year round. Your face painting looks great to me. He sure put a Happy Halloween smile on my face.
So cute, I love him.
Gourdon is fabulous. I think he could be out anytime of year. Great work!
I love this doll! Of course it can sit out all year round. My creepy bunny does and it never gets old seeing him. You did a fabulous job on the face painting, Danice. I've only made a couple dolls over the years, but I'm always inspired by yours. Thank you for being the best and sharing your creativity!
He is gourd-i-lish-ious. You did a fantastic job creating him. Janice
I would keep him out all year. He is to personable to not be available all year round. I do have a question. How long will he last. Do you do something to the base gourd to preserve him? I do love him and you did a great job with the painting.
Hey Selina. Thank you for the sweet comment. The gourd is not an actual food item. It is aged and painted muslin.
Gourdon is fantastic. Yes, I do think about dolls-to-make though my first effort (years ago) wasn't a success. I'm reluctant to try again, plus, I haven't found a pattern I want to try.
What a wickedly handsome guy! Thanks for sharing.
Gourdon is just wonderful! I would leave him out all year. I think I would give him a seat at the dining table. I must check out those patterns.
