Two questions...

image: diggerdanno | Morguefile.com

As most of you know, I love the Little House on the Prairie series. There are two things that bother me, though. They are questions about continuity. In these two instances, the storyline is badly broken. Since the series is based upon the writings of the real Laura Ingalls Wilder, surely these must just be mistakes made by the show's writers (?)

First, the 1974 episode Mr. Edwards' Homecoming, features the Ingalls' old friend Isaiah Edwards. He is a widower whose whole family had died of anthrax years before he met the Ingalls. Now, he comes to Walnut Grove and is still like before, lovin' to drink and spit tobacco, frequenting the saloons [of which there are none in Walnut Grove]. OK. Caroline Ingalls starts match-making him with the widow Grace Snider and they eventually marry in the 1975 episode Remember Me Part 2 and adopt a dying woman's 3 children Alicia, John, and Carl. That makes sense so far. Then, later on another episode, 1979's The Return of Mr. Edwards, Mr. Edwards is injured in a tree falling accident and the Ingalls visit and help Mr. Edwards and his family. Still makes sense. BUT, in later episodes, Mr. Edwards is a single, drinkin' spittin' burly man once again. Where did Grace and the kids go? Plus, after they adopted the 3 orphans, from then on Carl is not mentioned, and the Edwards have only 2 children, Alicia and John. What about the other child, Carl? Did I miss something? THEN in the 1982 episode Love Mr. Edwards falls in love with a much younger blind girl. WHAT the hey is going on? Is Edwards single, a widower twice, or what? "Ole Dan Tucker" seems quite ambiguous, doesn't he? Please continue reading...

ETSY on Martha Stewart!

Etsy is featured on The Martha Stewart Show today and Friday! It is on Hallmark channel. She is interviewing some of the Etsy team, and showcasing some of the shops, and telling all about how Etsy works by going live to the headquarters. If you cannot tune in now, it will re-run later today at 1PM CST, and again on Friday at 12PM CST. It seems not too many people have even heard of Etsy, except crafters. Maybe this will help a lot of people to go there and hopefully check out some of your shops.

Refreshing the webpage

'Nothing like a refreshing glass of lemonade, is there? I was just thinking that the following info may be of help to some of you. Have you ever wondered why your new template or favicon doesn't appear after you make the changes and log out of Blogger, or some other program? The answer may be this simple one: Browsers update at different speeds. IE is usually not very fast, while Chrome usually is.

You may need to refresh your webpage to get the most recent version on your screen; this is easy to do. Refresh your browser (top row on keyboard: f5 key). You may also need to delete browsing history. The computer's memory may be so full of places on the web you've visited that you may not be seeing the most current updates. This is easy to do also: It's under Tools in IE at top left of screen, and in Firefox at top left of screen under Firefox: History, Current History. Be sure to NOT delete your saved passwords and logins. Be SURE the boxes for those are NOT checked. About favicons, well, some browsers just will not display them. IE sometimes will not. I was so happy when Blogger added the Favicon upload gadget to our Layout in Design. A favicon makes it easy to identify a site or blog by the cute little image. Is everyone having a nice weekend?

♥ Look at my sweet granddaughter! ♥

Granddaughter Macey and family came to visit Mother and me on 29 March. My twin sis Janice and her son also came, and we all had a super time. Macey is standing some on her own. We think she will be walking very soon. She is already trying! You know as soon as she does, this doting Granny will have photos to share!
