My daughter and her family visited last Sunday, and we exchanged Easter gifts. Granddaughter was all cute, as always. Pictured above is the dress I made for her in her favorite color: hot pink. This is Simplicity 1174, and it has several options. What a couture-looking pattern. The dropped-waist skirt portion has two inverted pleats and two little bows. The back fastener is a zipper. Simple, yet adorable. 'Will definitely be using this pattern again, maybe next time the option with a sleeve. Overall, this pattern was quick to construct. Please continue reading for more, and for comments.
First accessory option is a mock straw hat. It was purchased with a rather wimpy bow, so I hot-glued some flowers and a butterfly in place of that. The second option is a matching headband with a big pink and white flower. Granddaughter loves it all! She is so sweet. This pattern's difficulty rating will be:
Fairly Easy

I have two granddaughters who would be gaga over this dress. (Although one maybe too round for the dress to look good on her. Good for you for sewing for your granddaughter. I don't seem to be interested in sewing clothes all that much although I did a lot of it for my own kids. It may be because they are not all that close to me and I can't easily fit things on them.
Thank you Bonnie. I don't get to see my granddaughter very often (out of town), so I know what you mean about fitting the grandkids' clothes. Sometimes mine are actually too big for her. Well, she can grow into it, lol.
