Message in a Bottle: revisited

Good morning! Happy 2020 to you all. Our weather is dry, but really cold. With no bright glaring sun, though, it is great photo conditions. A couple of months ago, my One Monthly Goal was to get this Message in a Bottle quilt top all quilted. That did not happen. So, now it is to be my first finish of the New Year. Looking closely, you can see my hand basting stitches and pins towards the left side of the quilt. Yes, that method does require some time, but it works so well for me. The strong thread can be removed and used on another quilt top. Be sure to visit the link party to see many other people's goals. Stay tuned to see this quilt all finished... soon.

Hand basting works great. Very underrated. Very pretty quilt! I love the globe fabric. Happy first finish!

That background fabric is really cool and had to be hard to deal with to make it look balanced. Good luck with the finish. Happy New Year.

Thank you, and, yes it was not easy to balance the background fabric. In fact, before beginning the quilting, I went back and changed one of the background blocks for aesthetical reasons.
