Winter wonderland in Alabama!

Winter wonderland Christmas in Alabama! This is unusual. It is so pretty, I just had to share this photo. This is a view from a city street. The trees glisten so icy and pretty! It is rare that we get any snow, so we really aren't accustomed to it. These are already some of my favorite photos. Isn't it dreamy? It almost looks like postcards, doesn't it? Happy holidays to you all!

Happy holidays!

Happy holidays to all! Hope you are all safe and enjoying the seasons. My daughter and her family will be in town in the AM, so cooking and preparing for them. They live about 200 miles from here. We are having our "feast" at mother's house. Definitely going to gain a few pounds, hehe. Wishing the best to everyone. I will be posting again soon.

Our house this Christmas

Hello again, friends. The photo above is inside my mother's house. The house was built in 1947, and she has some older furniture. In 2008, we had the walls re-plastered and painted. All is finished except the main living room. Please continue reading.

Christmas 1988

Amanda, my daughter, in 1988. This was her Christmas dress. The pattern is McCall's 2621. Sewn like the model's on the pattern envelope, it was made of navy blue striped cotton ticking and burgundy cotton calico print. It features a double square collar. The photo is not very good, the ticking detail does not show, but it is a photo of a photo since back then digital cameras were far in the future. Memories, she is now 26 and married, and they are expecting a baby. My how time flies! Precious memories for sure.

Americana holidays

Happy holidays to all! Welcome to the new followers, also. Thank you so much! The holidays are always so special. Christmas is one of our family's favorites. This is when we can see family members who live far away and cannot visit often. The memories are to be cherished forever. Wishing a very safe and happy Christmas season to all of you and your families.
