Confederate Rose quilt block

I have been quilting for a short time, only just over one year. A block that I had been thinking of attempting is a kinda complicated one. Well, pictured above is my first try. The block pattern is historical, and this version is from Barbara at Civil War Quilts Blog: Confederate Rose quilt block. The center square is from her fabric collection Civil War Reunion, and is fussy cut. The 4 outer corners are from her Ladies' Album collection. Traditionally, the colors chosen for this block were reds, pinks, and white. So, what do you think should be done once more blocks are completed? A small lap quilt or table runner? A wall hanging? Blue & avocado square neck dress

Although I am looking forward to autumn, the dress pictured above reminds me of a summer field full of flowers. This dress is from a pattern by Dandy Jane (Etsy), and is made of 100% cotton fabrics in Robin's Egg blue and avocado. The little yellow flowers along the hemline are my own addition. Baby bib & burp cloth

Hello friends. Pictured above are 2 gifts for a friend's baby shower. The bib and the burp cloth are made of 100% cotton fabric with a tonal grey chevron print. Their backings are white terry cloth. Really modern and contemporary for today's baby. These were easily and quickly made. When my daughter was a baby, I just used a clean cloth diaper as a burp cloth. Times have surely changed, haven't they? (Some modern parents have never even seen a cloth diaper, lol!). These patterns are free. The site no longer exists. A good tip for sewing with terry cloth is to cut out the fashion fabric and place it right sides together onto a slightly larger rectangle of terry cloth. Sew and then cut out around the item. This way, the terry cloth won't stretch out of shape while being sewn. Don't you just love sewing for babies? Since these patterns are so simple, they earn a pattern difficulty rating of:

Fairly Easy

It's National Sewing Month

Happy National Sewing Month everyone! Pictured above is a darling denim jumper that I made for my granddaughter. This one is See&Sew B6075, and a local shop embroidered her name in bright yellow across the bib front. The lower ruffle really makes this jumper look cute. Isn't it adorable? The turquoise turtleneck was purchased at a local store. There is a matching head band made of the ruffle's floral fabric. This jumper has 4 button fasteners and is fully lined, but it's not very complicated to construct. The pattern difficulty rating will be:
